I'd take into account proximity to school/work. Traffic can be nuts out here.

Problem with housing in pearl so close to sea they produce mould and damp easier. So aesthetically pleasing expensive but yep mould and damp issues

I'm from Houston so it's not foreign to me. But I'll say it's way hotter for way longer. It can easily be over 100 degrees at night. They have lots of AC and many outdoor areas have AC in the ground, so they do a great job of keeping things cool here.

there are some, but they'd be a bit further away from central doha. For a couple months stay, there are hotel options as well. PropertyFinder.qa is a great resource for looking at spots.

How much apartments 1-2 bedrooms???
I know it’s a cliché response, but the short answer is that it depends on where and what amenities you like. You can get some for as low as 4000 Qatari riyals all the way up to 13 or 14,000. But an average two bedroom will run you around 8 to 9000
@DKendrick1 for a single person working in Qatar west bay would you recommend staying in a rental in West bay area? Or is it too commercialised / any other better expat areas?

@@ameliazahra7677 westbay is a good area and is a shorlist location for me. The Pearl is also really nice as it offers the high rise action + amazing views, shops and entertainment. If I was a single person, I'd take The Pearl over Westbay. Also you're signing leases for one year at a time so after a year, you can move around as needed. If I woke up in your shoes, I'd get a hotel in Westbay on a month-to-month basis which would buy you time to look around and become familiar with the city. It also allows you flexibility so you can jump on a deal if it comes across. PropertyFinder.qa is a great resource for finding places here in Doha.
