15 Tips Career Mode Tips Everyone Should Know!

- A few months ago, I create a video with 15 tips that I saw everyone should know about create a club mode. If you've not seen it you can click the card at the top of the video right now, and i’ve put it in the end screen at the end of this video. Today I've got another bunch of tips, I think there's actually more than 15 in here, that I think everybody should know about FIFA Career Mode. I've split them up into different sections, but let's get started with the first one.
Sharpness, Fitness, Morale
Sharpness boosts players performance, increases responsiveness in matches and makes them all around perform better. Its super noticeable in dribbling and passing, so make sure you plan your team before every match so your best 11 are all being trained.
Training can also restore players stamina, recover gives the most stamina back but does lower sharpness. I use rest most of the time, or just rotate the players out of training all together.
Morale is one of the most hidden but important parts of Career Mode. Its boosted by good performances, press conferences and new contracts and it makes the players play way better in games as well as develop faster in training.
Press Conferences
Press Conferences can be boring but Morale has a big impact. Make sure you do them for big games, and if you’re on a losing streak they are even more important.
Morale impacts player performance, but also boosts player development. Players do actually have slightly different reactions to what you say, so can be useful to know your squads personality.
Finding new players
Every scout is slightly different, if you’d rather have accurate reports you need to focus on the Judgement stats, where as if you’d rather have loads of players look for Experience.
It’s super important to scout players fully before trying to sign them. You’ll get their transfer demands, you’ll see if they fit in your team and you’ll get all their hidden info.
Youth Academy
Players will develop from training plans faster when they're in the academy
Once promoted they will improve faster if you’re giving them game time.
Game time + Senior training is still not much better than only Youth training.
In short, don’t promote your players too soon, or you’ll end up with a bunch of 70 rated 22 year old nobodies that’ll never be good enough for elite football.
Training your Squad
Players that are put on development plans will develop way faster than players on balanced.
You can fully remove flaws in your players' games over 2 seasons.
Stats will increase at around 4-5 per season on balanced, but can improve by nearly 10 if on a focused development plan.
Managing a squad
The loan list is really powerful for moving players on, even senior ones. If you don't want a player, you can receive around 5 loan to buy offers per transfer window.
Compared to transfer listing a player, where you might get 1 or 2 offers, and will usually be for a smaller amount of money.
Transfer listing is still good, do not be afraid to prune your squad if you notice you’re not using a specific player.
Keeping the game fun
If you think your league is underperforming or becoming too easy, you can use swap deals to make other teams better.
This works better if you send good young youth players to other teams, they wont instantly improve, but as the players get better they can either sell for big money or will get a better squad.
Adding storylines, moving clubs or adding restrictions are all super easy ways to make the game more fun. Any kind of randomness to the save can make it more unpredictable, to try to think of some fun rules you can use for your save.
Some examples could be
Playing as a team from a capital city, and only signing players from there. Eg Hertha only Berliners, Sutton only Londonerers, Paris FC only Parisians.
Going Youth Academy only with a team famous for their young players. Eg Crewe in England, La Havre in France, Las Palmas in Spain.
Rebuild a team with a full new squad in one transfer window

Another tip for a career mode is to do a journey. For me, being an Australian, I have done a career with my home town club Adelaide United. Realistically this is my best chance of ever managing a professional club lol. From there I went to Groningen in Holland, Basel in Switzerland and then finally Aston Villa in the prem. I won a league with Adelaide, a domestic cup and finished in a Europa league place with Groningen, won a domestic double with Basel and played champions league, and then won an FA cup with villa. Pretty realistic and fun, and hoping for a big job offer soon!

@@tobyhellewell5981 The system requirements for football manager 23 aren't that high, so I think you should be able to play it on your laptop.
Another way to keep it fun is where u change club/inTL and jus keep building teams in your league or around all the league and jus watch the teams you’ve built jus clash out and manage whichever .
I find it sad that I have to come up with my made-up, not-in-game limitations in order to keep career mode interesting. Salary caps, scouting limitations, intentionally hiring bad scouts... the list goes on.

Or you can also select a very bad team on a crappy league with little to no transfer budget. You can also make ref strict and injury risk high. Play world class. That’ll keep the game alive for a little bit longer

totally agree about adding your own storylines. In my Barcelona save, I was able to develop 2 plat level strikers and played a 2 striker formation. But after 3 seasons of winning back to back champions league. I decided to create a story where 1 of the strikers becomes jealous of the other's fame and decides to transfer to Real Madrid. I then started using a 1 striker formation to go with the "story". The following champions league was insane cause it ended up being a Barcelona vs Madrid final where it ended with my striker missing a penalty (i sim manager mode) to lose us the final. It was a loss sure but man, the whole events leading up to it was amazing

I’ve been playing cm in ea nhl for years now but just switched to fifa lately. I was expecting to find micro management options like that in fifa since it’s present in nhl, but I was deeply disappointed to see they weren’t… ea should take the best of every sports game menus and try to do something better, but ea being ea; they won’t

Hey @Geografifa, I'm a real fan of your league guides, how do feel about making a guid about building your squad based on the league you are competing. For instance, pick a team for Championship promotion to Premier League and build a squad realistically. Or Premier League guide to survival after promotion, how to build your squad. How many star players, how many 30+ aged players, how many youth high potentials, how many free agents, how many back ups...what type of players and this sort of things.

All fine and well but they need to fix dynamic potential and all the other bugs asap.
Is there a way of knowing which development plan to use on certain players and (if needed), knowing what position to change a player to? (for example from RW to LW or CAM)

I did a bilbao kinda thing with everton signed English only players it was fun challange and finding players never new about and see which plqyers play better than there rating i was horrified to find after the usual 3 english GKs there is only 1 with a potential higher than 80 and he players in france for st ettiene funniest thing is hes also called ettiene but yes i had pickford but wanted good back up ended up with butland in 5yrs he played like 5 games and i guarantee they were 2nd legs of a tie already over lol

Yes in league play, not in some tournaments

@max86m42 yes in general Premier League, you can sub 5. In FA cup type tournaments, you only get 3.

im on a 10 game win streak whilst playing the games *on world class* which im shit at
I've been playing fifa 20 for a while now and i only play career mode not online, but i have gotten bored of it for 3 main reasons - the league tables are fucking retarded and unrealistic and predictable because the top teams never lose, and the champions league is too easy and i keep winning the final by at least 5 goals - its easier than winning an fa cup 3rd round game, and heading is completely useless.
It's fucking disgusting how bad it all is and i just can't play it anymore and i do not trust the modders because their websites and links are malicious and full of malware and viruses.
I'm considering getting 23, but first i need to know what its like, can someone tell me what heading is like and if the leagues and competitions in career mode are more realistic and fun?
