    Thank you Sir. I came across your channel by accident around the beginning of 2024. It took a big jump to change my tank over to using your system, but I'm glad that I did! The plant life has exploded, the fish and snails are thriving, and life is good. I had to wait a little for the snow and ice to clear, to access some decaying pond leaves. My ecosystem is running along nicely, without any interference from me. Thank you for encouraging everyone to move away from all those chemicals!

    This guy is the reason I switched to a natural tank. Took cheap potting soil and capped it with sand from my local creek. Kinda wish I had rinsed the sand but after about a week or two, it’s as clear as can be. I have fish that prob shouldn’t be kept together and are considered messy fish, but they all get along great. Full of plants, driftwood and multiple species of fish and snails. Tryin to get a food web established but I’m still fairly new (only a month+) into it and I know it takes months. I keep adding dead leaves from the ponds and as many of the things that look good from the resurrection jars. Some of the things I see in those jars look like they’d be good food but also not sure if they’re bad parasites.

    Wonderful to see a business that's honorable, flourish. I have alot of respect for you Father fish, and appreciation because you have taught me so much but most of all put me on a path that's more than fish in some ways. I have realized and learned so much about life in general and processes in this world we are. I can also attest to the truth in all this. I started a tank 7 months ago as a gift to a friend. I wanted a natural self reliant system and found FF. His tips are the same as now and they are just follow life and you will get life lol. I now have 5 tanks with breeding happening all on it own. Fish defying what google tells me, plants and life blooming, and I don't have to mess with the water. I just have to watch plants competing for light haha. It's all so rewarding, and a wonderful way to remind ya how beautiful all this is. Thanks again FF and you take er easy!

    I’m so glad I found your channel. Followed your method with a 10 gallon and it is thriving. I then did the same for a 120, used your fertilizer, and it is also thriving.
    I ordered some tetras for the 120 and ended up with ick. Lost a couple angel fish and few tetras. All I did was up the temperature and it wiped it out. Everything has been great for the last 6 months, since that incident.

    Thank you Father Fish! Your method just explained so much about what was going on in my 20 gal aquarium. I was doing the typical gravel bottom, fish flakes, plant food, water changes and vacuuming deep into the gravel to keep everything clean. This was going on for some years, then my life got complicated and I neglected my chores. I still fed my fish and refilled it from evaporation but I didn't siphon the dirt out. My plants surprised me by " over growing " and being healthy. I then cleaned up my tank and the plants don't look as good. I came upon your videos a few days ago and now I understand. I don't want to dismantle the whole tank to restart using the dirt substrate you use. Can I get a similar effect another way? For now no matter how tempting it is to clean the build up of fish and snail poop under the gravel I will leave it.

    I tested this method - I agree with everything, but I believe that it is only suitable for small fish, there is absolutely no chance of maintaining proper conditions in an aquarium with large fish such as oscars, I have a 150-gallon aquarium and five of these fish, they produce large amounts of dirt , even if we feed them three times a week and have an aquarium full of plants, they will not be able to absorb all of this material - the idea is beautiful, but in some cases it is impossible to avoid cleaning the aquarium

I would rather stick a climbing plant in the top and let the roots grow down into the water instead, I have hear that it makes a good filter to go along with the sand also I figure the less ma made junk in the tank the better.

It’s the 1st time I’ve ever seen them anywhere. I’ve been looking for the name of them. I got them so long ago along with some mollys and guppies and they are the sole survivors from that 1st buy. I am 1 year in still learning by each failing. If I was to say the hardiest fish I know it would be these bad boys. They are about the size of a 10 pence peice, a quarter in your money. I've got a question, a pretty good one I think. I have dirt, sand and small amount of gravel as substrate in my tanks. Yesterday I rescued 4 plecos and one of them has begun digging up and kicking up the substrate and plants! I'm very worried it's about to spike, badly, with the sand barrier being broken like that. Is there anything I can do to stop this? The plecos are young bristlenose, 1.5in to about 3in. Tank is 27gal, I'm soon moving them into a 55 tall, and plan on making hides for the back wall to enlarge their hiding opportunities, but they were all just rescued from a 5gal, 4 plecos, 4 glofish, 3 tetras the size of a toonie, and 1 baby guppy which is evidence of alot more fish having being in the 5gal.

    • @FatherFish
      @FatherFish  Před 3 měsíci +1

      They have bad habits based on living in a poor environment. The move will help. They should not be digging deep. Add another inch of gravel or sand.

    • @tashspond
      @tashspond Před 3 měsíci

      @FatherFish the 4 of them only had a small hollow tank decor and gravel in their original tank and so far they don't seem to understand what pucks or veggies are, I'm hoping they are just taking advantage of their new environment quiet down soon like you say, I'm definitely gonna add some more sand and rocks though, I might attempt to make them a dedicated patch that is dig safe and cover the rest that is exposed with moss and rocks

    • @alexhaney100
      @alexhaney100 Před 3 měsíci

      @FatherFish thanks! However my shell dwellers dig everything up because they move the sand around. Doubt any rooted plant would last long, and the dirted substrate under the sand would be unleashed into the tank in no time.
