    That is so beautiful!!!! I love that!!! It seems so do-able. It doesn't seem complicated. Thank you so much for taking the time to share these videos. I love the way you explain. I love your hands. They remind me of my grandmother's hands, even though you are my age. I also love your cute accent. Both of my grandmothers had accents too. I miss them so much.

    As always - it is so so fun to watch what you do...I don't mind that you don't show the beginning - I just keep at it and try to figure it out and eventually I do - and in a way, it's a bit harder...but then I actually learn something more - which is good for my aging brain!! I am so proud of you and your daughter? granddaughter? because you started out small and now have 96K subscribed!! This is really hard to do on youtube and you did it and...you keep adding such interesting content. I love that you include different generations together doing this time honored craft. It just makes me feel happy hearing your voices!! Muchos Gracias and God Bless. I watch you and Very Pink Knits and a couple of others. Yours is the most "homey" feeling - like I'm sitting around with my sisters knitting and chatting. You've both done a really good thing! You are sharing love all around the world!!! I hope you are making some money too - you deserve every penny and a lot more!

  • @junebrown8207
    @junebrown8207 Před 6 lety +1

    I also have a question for Joanne. At the very beginning of this pattern and just after you have cast on in the first color how can you do the first row in two colors when there is only one color? What I mean is this, how can you slip the second color when it is not fully knitted onto the knitting needles? When I look at the swatch in the video as far as I can tell there seem to be two rows of knitting after casting on with the first color of dark blue. Then there seems to be the light color blue after this mixed in with the dark color blue, however, when looking at this swatch it seems as if the light blue is in-between the dark blue. This is where the confusion lies, on the 3rd row. However, I seem to think I now know how this is. You start this 3rd row with the dark blue and then you begin to knit in the light blue on this row and you proceed from here. Please let me know if this is correct. I will look at this video again to see if I am right as well. But you need to work on writing out your instructions more clearly as well. You are a really good knitter but your instructions need to be written down carefully and clearly otherwise this also adds to the confusion.

    • @JoannesWeb
      @JoannesWeb  Před 6 lety

      You cast on with one color. When you use the next color, you knit one stitch and pass the next. This will automatically give you the 2 alternate colors on your right needle.

      OK. What do you want to know about them? They come in metal, plastic and bamboo. All sizes thick and you will find different lengths, depending on how big around you want your project. You need enough stitches to go arround and connect with the stitches on the other side needle.

    @junebrown8207 Před 6 lety

    Okay, I have now gone back to the video and it is still confusing. How can you slip a stitch that has not been knitted? When I look at the light blue there is no way that this has been first knitted as part of the second row because both rows after the cast on show dark blue and not one dark blue and then the other light blue. People like me love this stitch but it is very frustrating when it is not fully explained. You seem to be the only one on CZcams and on the Internet who knows about this stitch so it would be nice and kind of you to do this video again showing from the beginning how it is all started. As you can see from the comments below I am not the only one who feels this way. So please do this as a favor to me and all those others who want this new video to be done. Many Thanks in advance! What you could do though is make your Main Color - White and the Second Color - Variegated. The white would make the variegated POP. Or vice verse 😊

      Cast on with any color and start your stitch with the same color or the next, as you wish.

    I dont understand why you dont begin with the cast on. People who are new to knitting will not understand why there work is not turning out like yours. I think if you cannot be kind enough to answer their questions i will be unsubscribing.

    this is ridiculous, why aren't you showing us the cast on for this?

      It would be nice to not bite the hand that feeds you 🙄, , but I agree it would have been much clearer if the video had begun with cast on and ended with bind off.

      It would be nice if you understood who feeds who. These tutorials are made to generate advertisement income. People make CZcams videos, if lots of people view these tutorials then it attracts advertisers who pay to advertise on their videos. I think I am entitled to be annoyed .... as you rightly say, it would be much clearer if the video had begun with cast on and ended with bind off. I will look to someone who makes clearer more informative videos next time.

      Do you mean metallic? I use them all the time. I prefer them, since the stitches slide better. For beginners, I recommend bamboo needles. If you mean circular needles, I use them a lot too. For everything, not only for circular projects. (You don't lose a needle this way).
