I hope you guys play snake oil,but wait theres more or funemployed in person cause those are really silly and good games
The fake laugh slowly and steadily evolving into the whole table actually in tears for real is the funniest thing ive seen in a long time
42:15 for anyone curious
the transition from Sullivan's fake laugh to Sullivan's real laugh was so good
The fake laughter went way longer than i thought and the real laughter ALSO went way longer than i thought :D
This absolutely broke me 😂😂
That is the definition of working yourself into a shoot! You love to see it.
I am absolutely fuming at Adam saying ‘now you know the answer’ I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT KNOW THE ANSWER ADAM WHAT DID MADONA DO
Did they show the answer to any questions?
I thought the same but after 20 minutes, I appreciated being forced to play along
They explicitly covered the answers with fish! The lies, the lies...
I actually rewound the video to check I hadn't missed the answer
@@Housenflou I did the same thing.
There's a special absurdity in Adam making fun of Germans for their drinking stereotypes in a video released three days after one of him and Sully drinking each other under the table over Battleship.
That episode made me glad my dad is 80 and no longer in the Navy, ROFL. He's had enough shenanigans without ideas like that.
"drinking each other under the table" has _gotta be_ one of those weird english terms.
@@SpaceMissileunfortunately, I don’t think so. Unless I’m mistaken, it’s just about getting so piss drunk you end up passed out on the floor under the table
High five to whoever edited this to exactly one hour. I see you, and I know how satisfying that was for you.
I see 59:59
Not only that, but the added stuff was amazing. Especially the bit about Laurie’s joke.
69th like noice
From my end, this one was 59:59 and the one before it, Hues and Cues, was 58:58. Kinda funny to see.
it's 59:59. they just want to torture us.
When they all started fake laughing, confusing blair, but it then turning into real laughter followed by blair being even more confused. One of the best NRB moments hahahaha
Spent the first 3 turns thinking I’d gone blind because I couldn’t read what the answer was after Adam said we’d know
oh so they eventually show the answers to us? why didnt they do it from the beginning? lol
nevermind they just decided to cover it instead? dang that sucks, i wish they would just give us the chance to see it at least rather than not let us see. ah well, it was a good video regardless
@@Jamjamsart I think they did this so that you can play along at home. Like guess which one you think is real. I think it's a good edit.
@@Phyrre56 the thing with that is, they usuually give us the choice of weather we want to play along or not and even in this Adam said "now you've also seen it" as if they planned on giving us that choice. they usually say "close your eyes if you want to play along." not sure why they chose to not give us the choice at all in this one
@@Phyrre56 No. They are supposed to give a choice. I see why they didn't, as doing that every time would take a long time. (but easy solution to that is to just have in editing something that says "Answer in 3... 2... 1..." and then show it for like 1 second). Sometimes I like to play along, sometimes I don't. in this one I'm not even interested in the video if I can't see the answer
I found NRB/BGC about a month or so ago from watching Guess Who with vibes. Ever since, most of my free time has been watching all of these videos. It makes me so excited about gaming. Everyone’s personalities fit together so well. The videos just feel like you’re sitting with friends and watching a fun night together.
Now to get all of my friends together to buy games and play them…
That’s exactly how I got started!
Hey, you're me from 8 months ago. Don't worry, it gets worse. I just bought the physical copy of BotC with my first paycheck from my new job. Only found it from this channel.
Welcome on board 🙂
Same with me lol
@@GeniusLad32 I won't lie, I've been avoiding the BotC videos because I KNOW I'm going to binge-watch them all at once and want to buy it.
42:10 Oh so this is how those episodes of mass hysteria happen when entire towns can't stop dancing
exactly my thoughts lol
46:56
And then having this following it it up was also very funny.
Actually that was nightshade poisoning iirc
Sully is a remarkably knowledgeable person! His use of logic and deductive reasoning is quite swell as well!
You have the same name as me!
but what about his seductive reasoning?
Blair blinks when she has to think about lies. Do what you will with that information, let’s shake the table baby. Sullivan opens his eyes more as well
Im so glad they finally recorded their own laugh track for BGC, its exactly what the channel needed. It should now play during every single joke of the day segment from here on out.
42 minutes = the greatest moment in NRB history and a perfect example of a bunch of mates playing board games
Nothing has made me laugh that much in so long. The bit itself was funny but when it turned real, it went to another level
Very good indeed but personally I like the jurassic park bit even more.
It reminded me SO much of David Brent in the motivation session
36:54 So that's what Teri looks like!
42:15 And the moment they all went mad...
The best part of boardgame club is when Adam, Sully and Laurie changes color to a neon red
That Laurie potato bit is very funny editing James, well done
omg when Sully mentioned the petrified frogs I immediately thought of Froggyland because I'm from Split and I love that that's actually what he was thinking of
The messed up thing is that Aetherius actually count Buddha amongst those Venus people. I wonder how that would have turned out in the game aftermath lmao
Fun fact: I was so fascinated by that question I immediately looked up the answer and after skimming some stuff and seeing a symbol of the organization, I thought that Buddha was the correct answer.
Which Buddha?
There’s a WSJ article from 1999 about the chair class. It’s apparently because multiple people fell over because they were sitting on chairs with rollers and the floor was linoleum so it was slippery. They gave them regular chairs but demanded the roller chairs back because the regular ones were uncomfortable. To get their roller chairs back, they needed to take the class.
42:10 is hands down, my favorite moment in NRB history to date. Magnificent.
That fake laugh -> hysterics had me in literal tears you all have such infectious laughs 😂
Early for once! I'm loving the intros. Any chance we coild get a compilation vid of all the "first rule of boardgame club"s said over the years? Would be great.
Need
There's nothing more entertaining like Sullivan's laugh! And yes, that is definitely a heat stroke. I played Skull with my friends to forget I'm like *dying.* I can't wait to play this one!
The fake laugh was the greatest. Watching Brooke unsure what the hell was going on, and then finally breaking. Laurie got me, and I had tears when Adam had tears. Absolutely brilliant guys. Love from Australia 🇦🇺
Something I was not expecting to hear today was Sullivan singing 'Dance To Yer Daddy' but my day is infinitely better for having heard it!
I would love to see Brooke continue to display her prowess in fish based games by playing as the shark in Jaws
damn Ken is a player, I'd have totally get the insulation bait
I had wisdom teeth surgery this morning and so I have to try to watch this without laughing.
It hasn't been working well.
That 'bit' spiralled out of control so hard it needed a mayday alert!
In 2 years or so NRB has shot up thebjoard game channel ranks and is easily my favourite. These videos are always funny
Dammit, there needs to be a warning for people who are high heading into that laughing section
"Summarize your favorite CZcams channel with one timestamp."
42:10
As you mention it, can anyone explain the joke to me, I didn't get it. And I am german...
@@nightclyve2857 Adam made a knowingly lame joke that Germans didn't have to be ordered to drink beer by Frederick the Great. Then everyone had a long sarcastic laugh at the lame joke that keep going until the fact they where pretend laughing so long became actually hilarious to them.
Very nearly almost enough fish puns in this!
Yeah it was borderline trout of order
@@ajtct98 👏👏👏
"Fake laugh it until you laugh for real" quote of the day
Do we think Adam knows that a stamp isn't a "to scale" replica of the Queen? She's not actually that small Y'know 😂
16:29 it’s so cool to hear Aotearoa mentioned!! and it wasnt an accountant but people have brought sheep to indoor work environments before so Adam was pretty spot on 😆
I actually knew the Disney question because of the Epic Mickey games lol. The hidden Disney history of the forgotten Oswald the Lucky Rabbit was a main plot point of the games. And it really worth a look to check out the real history of Oswald and why he was forgotten to time, its a fascinating story.
I knew it because I read some Walt Disney Wikipedia article once
I’m a long standing patreon of NRB, a kickstarter backer and an avid board game fan and player. My god this was one funny episode. I know it’s unlikely but I would love you guys to play this again! Might be one of my favourite episodes of board game club now, excellent stuff!
James the editor was this episodes MVP😂
On the Adam's 'tie breaker', Sully had me with Pokémon cards. Because it was moderately big new around here that Target pulled Pokemon card packs off the shelves because people were stealing them to resell.
Oh I really enjoyed that edit taking the piss out of Laurie's "really good joke"🤣
30 minute class in sitting down while wearing their belt with the flashlight, holster note pad and walkie talkie. ITs a lot of things that can get in way... very practical class tbh.
I've been stuck home for the past week with Covid and have been binging all the videos from this channel. I'm so glad I found this channel, otherwise I would have been bored to death.

The editing on this video is superb! That potato joke montage is a thing of beauty.
Seriously guys one of your finest videos, also great editing once again whomever edits these is so talented!!!!
Superb editing team-- the animation into ad breaks, the cutaways into individual interviews/commentary like a reality TV show, covering up the answer + putting card on the screen to read, etc. All great stuff!
44:00
*whew*
I feel like we all need to take a break after that one. I wasn't even there and I'm exhausted
This was great fun, but I'm so excited you are playing one of my favorite games next time!! Can't wait!
ahhh i love nrb so much these notifications always make me so happy
Sully's laugh is so contagious 🤣🤣
Fantastic episode. Can't wait for Deception in person, been waiting for so long. That 42min bit made me think you also need to do a compilation of the greatest moments in NRB history (I remember Tummy sword to this day).
The laughter 🤣 I was crying laughing right along with you all. Joyous
This was the episode that introduced me to No Rolls Barred; a friend shared a clip of the fake-to-real laughter bit and I was immediately intrigued.
There is nothing I enjoy more in life than commenting: "Worked yourself into a shoot, brother..." 42:10
5:18 "you at home now know the answer." *Proceeds to not show the answer*
42:35 you can SEE the moment it turned into real laughter on Adams face
Let’s Goooo!!! It’s the best day of the week!!! ITS BOARD GAME CLUB!!!
I love all of Sully's fun facts and how he based his lies on real things
Always a fan of any trivia game, but extra looking forward to next week. I just rewatched the first Deception game and was hoping for another one
Sully turned the colour of Ken's shirt, magnificent
So glad to hear the song again! 👑
SPOILERS:
Absolutely fitting that both final questions could lead to the cast singing national anthems for putting marks on Adam's board.
I'm proud of always getting close *enough* to the real answer
I choose the order in my head and the real one is almost always in the last two
but I tend to pick the wrong one ;-;
Love the addition of ken to NRB! What a lovely lad.
Having to cut the fake laugh bit as a response to Laurie's ignored potato joke is really funny but also heartbreaking.
Haha, I knew the answer to some of the questions so it was fun to see which they'd go for
42:00 is maybe the best minute in BGC history
Look at you, nailing the 1 hour runtime right on the dot!
those laughs, so contagious 😂
I'm glad the Mayor cat is in one of the questions, I think it's the only one I knew... but I think I heard the Napoleon pig thing somewhere too
At the laughing fit part, it’s funny to see Blair and Brooke not join in the fake laughing then actually start real laughing when everyone else does hahah
According to the Wikipedia article for Aetherius Society: The society is named after Aetherius, a being King claims to have telepathically contacted and channelled. Aetherius is believed to be a Cosmic Master from Venus, as are Buddha and Jesus.
So that lie from Laurie was actually a bang-on truth.
You know the Adam win/loss board might not be necessary anymore. He has won 10 out of the last 48 games. Assuming all 48 games involved only 6 ppl, he is performing above average (16.6%) at a 20.8% win rate. Otherwise harder to tell depending on # of players and not counting all the win/losses before they started tallying.
I do love how in adam's first go with the aetherius society laurie accidently gave a correct answer as both jesus and buddha are set to live on venus :D
At 24:40 I’m suprised no one said sponge on a stick because it’s so easy to get those two confused…
That’s what I would have said
When it was first read out, I thought the pig question meant France criminalized calling something you own a pig. Like you couldn't call a table your pig. But naming conventions makes a little more sense
There are lots of tiny rules in France that remain from imperial prestige. I've also heard that the president can attend mass on a horse due to thee concordat, of rather what remains of it
That joke of the day began seeking silly, then funny, then hilarious then I laughed so hard and for so long I just about puked and hurt my throat. So bravo.
53:17 I actually knew this one. Censor Appivs Clavdivs Caecvs, often refered to as Claudius the Blind, was a Roman censor who removed Z from the alphabet because it was in the process of shifting into a rhotic. It’s place in the alphabet was later filled by the letter G, often attributed to Spvrivs Carvilivs Rvga, as his last name was often misread as Rvca due to C also making the /g/ sound. (Note: names are Romanized. The letter U did not exist yet. For a large part of human history, V was just a vowel sometimes and and it had a different shape when it was pronounced as a vowel but it was still one letter just with two different forms that are pronounced differently and are different mutually exclusive types of letter)

this game was fun, I'd love to see it again.
What's funny is that on the second question (the Aetherius one), Buddha is also technically correct as well. So there were actually two correct answers there.
Why is this the most hilarious thing I've ever seen?
It's funny that there are different segments for all the questions with the outlier being the section for Laurie's potato joke.
Members of the department's fingerprint-identification section were ordered to attend a class Tuesday after two employees in the 26-member unit fell off their chairs and a third was injured when her chair's seat dropped suddenly. All filed workers' compensation claims.Mar 24, 1999
The play back on the joke was great!
So I’ve just come back to this today….. Did Adam curse our now late Queen?? 😳
1:40 of complete laughter @42:13 and I'm dying from the nonsensicalness(new word lol) 🤣 😂 😭 😆 💀
This is one of our family games. We thought we invented it. Using an outdated dictionary choose a word you think noone has heard of. Say the word and write down the definitions. Everyone writes down a fake definition and then everybody makes a guess.
1 point for your answer being chosen. 2 points for guessing the correct answer. 5 points if your correct answer is not guessed. Winner is first to 50 for an hour long game. Good fun.
53:15 Sully... that letter was in the Greek alphabet... it's one of the oldest letters in the alphabet... Sully!
I love that they just laughed for a minute straight
A cod complex...
I'm not crying you are! (Of laughing)
14:30 I actually already knew that the answer to this question was wallpaper! Don’t ask me how I knew but I just did lol
42:15 through however long it was had me gasping for air omg
Them singing “God save the Queen” only for Lizzy the lizard to die a month later 👌🏻
46:55 That's our missed Joke of the Day
Huh, between this game and Snakesss, thia company is doing a great job making various trivia/social deduction games. Neat!
Change the topic to history and Sullivan turns from ... well Sullivan, into a genius.
Great edit James lol
It gives me anxiety when I already know some of these pieces of trivia and they guess it wrong lmao
And now I'm just trying to remember the TV show and episode I saw that mentioned the Tesla fact. The scene was like 3 people going through old letters of Tesla's trying to find a clue with people chasing them and then it's mentioned.
