    * These ratings are based purely on the actual car in the video and do not represent every units of the car model.
    Personal Verdict: Very laggy throttle response. Underpowered for 2.0; This is one of those cars that really needs a slam on the accelerator pedal to get it moving. Doing a parallel parking on hill slopes can be a problem since a foot-operated parking brake is used instead, which makes hill starts tricky for the most part. Other than that, the front seats are quite comfortable. The car could make do with a slightly more reclined rear seat as I find the angle to be a bit too upright for my liking (I'm 5' 10" by the way). Ride is soft and smooth. The Camry has the best soundproofing among its competitors back in the days in terms of wind noise and tyre noise.

    Currently own the 2.4V. If you are driving alone, 2.0 n 2.4 difference is minor unless u have 5 adults or heavy luggage. The FC for both is the same based on my experience. So go for the 2.4 if you don't mind the higher road tax which is rm 742.00 a year.

      Thanks for your insight. I haven't driven the 2.4V before, but I find the power of the 2.0 to be lacking in some occasions. Town driving is adequate. On the highways, the car really struggles to accelerate especially when travelling at a speed of 80-90 km/h. Once the speedo get past 120 km/h, power is OK.

      @@TonyFoo For the 2.0 to be quick on acceleration, you really need to step on the gas from standstill to tell the ECU to activate the VVTi solenoid, a quick step, not slowly step on the accelerator. try it.
      2.0 is lacking in power if you have more than 2 people in it.

      I just don't like stomping the gas pedal in this car because it introduces a jerk that is otherwise too uncomfortable for me. The fact that it has a 0.5s DbW delay just doesn't help either. Doesn't matter if the car is loaded with passengers, I will just usually rev the engine up to minimum 3k rpm before it upshifts to next gear to overcome the underpower issue. If I really needed to accelerate while on the move, I will just manually downshift to D3 or D2 on the gear selector lever depending on the driving speed wherever possible, or I will just go full throttle if I'm lazy enough.

      Can't agree more. Would've been better if it was a 2.4V though.

    Is that xle trim because of the wood trim
    Currently own a 2010 toyota camry with 116k miles US spec

    • @TonyFoo
      @TonyFoo  Před rokem

      We don't get the XLE trim over here in Malaysia, but we do have quite a number USDM Camrys sold here as grey imports. Also, what you are looking at is an Asian version of Camry which is based on the Toyota Aurion in Australia, which is different from the Camry in the US.

      This car has served my family well over the last 6 years so no major issues. Only small weaknesses here and there, but that is just my nitpicking. Other than that, the car drives good.

    my 2010 camry 2.0G why same your 2.0E?

    • @TonyFoo
      @TonyFoo  Před 3 lety +2

      My 2.0E has the leather seats installed aftermarket; originally this car came with fabric seats. On top of that, your 2.0G should come with 2 electric seats at the front... and more chrome bits here and there such as door handles and aircond vents.
