      You're*** absolutely correct. He could easily make 400 bucks in less than 12 hours in his market on DD, and he took it for granted. If I could make 400 dollars in less than 12 hours in my market, I'd be dashing 6 days a week and stacking my money. I understand he has a family to spend time with, but cmon man, even a blind man can see 👀 the opportunity at hand in that type of market. He could have bought a brand new vehicle and still had money in the bank if he had worked 5 days a week at around 12 hours or less per day for the last two years. We all are aware these apps aren't going to allow us to make that type of money (400 dollars per day in less than 12 hours) for the long haul. Making a good chunk of money in the gig economy is extremely temporary. I could never make over 300 dollars in 15 hours of work in my market. The best my market ever was 270 bucks in a 15 hour day on DD and that was back in 2019/2020 when I was exclusively only doing DD. Now if I was to do DD for 12 hours a day I'd barely clear 200 bucks and that's on a decent Monday or Thursday. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Fridays are not great earning days in my market. Fridays have a lot of volume as far as orders, but everyone & their mother are out dashing on Fridays, so my earning potential is not great. I'd be lucky to clear 80 bucks during the dinner rush on Friday. Some Friday nights, I only make 50 bucks on DD. To be fair, I multi-app, but still, the large Friday night dinner orders are very rare in my market. Pedro fumbled the bag with DD imo. But yea I totally agree with your comment. Great comment. 👍🏽 💯

      @jeremym367Yup it's easy to say "You must adapt. You have to adapt." When you're sitting in a goldmine market for DoorDash making at least 300 to 400 dollars within 12 hours on any given day. Pedro now sees the stress other folks have been going through in worst off markets. I can't even clear 200 bucks in my market within 12 hours on DoorDash. I have to multi-app and still their is no guarantee I'm clearing 200 bucks on any given day working 10 to 12 hours.

      I been delivering for DD ever since the pandemic and UE for about 2 years now. There are some down days, but I could care less cuz these gigs are just my side hustle. Whatever I make on the gig app, it’s just extra money. People, stop treating these gig work like it’s your full time job. Go out and get a W2 job and do DD/UE on the side. Facts 💯 the problem is just that you have the delusional people of this world that want to treat gig work like a full time job or career and it ain't happening. The pay is not consistent and the fact you can get deactivated at any given time without cause and many other variables are reasons that you cannot rely on gig work as a full time income. Problem today is after covid people are stuck in this "work remotely" phase and can't accept the fact the pandemic is over and life is back to normal and people are being required to go back to the office. The stay at home and not have to work while you receive stimulus checks and benefits is one of the reasons our economy is at a downfall, not to mention our president and the democratic party are to blame as well for poor and irrational decision making as well.

Teaching him what the world is really like, while earning money for college or savings hopefully. Just an eye opener & you are right. This is side money. The psych here is clear. You want to make it so miserable watching you supposedly suffer and struggle through making these other apps work, that your audience downright demands you return to DD. That way you can keep the petty, but give in for your channel, and return right back to where you definitely want to be. This whole saga is so telegraphed. I’m not saying it’s fake, It clearly isn’t. Please Pedro, do NOT fight your audience. This will never create a good outcome for you (end of this video). You know that there will be a thousand dickheads out there causing you frustration. Be above that and turn this bad situation around into a positive one. Your Channel in 2021 got me into DD, and for a while that was positive, but it was never going to be forever (ended in June 2023). So you are now in a very powerful position to turn "Pedro DoorDash Santiago" into "Life After DoorDash Santiago" and focus on all the things people can do to simply use food delivery as a starting point to creating even better online money making opportunities. You're not alone. Thanks for keeping it real. I'm exactly where Pedro is. I feel every word and emotion. Used to love gig work, but hate it now. The flexibility has been a blessing with my health problems, but I feel defeated and depressed getting out every day only to feel stressed and frustrated over and over. Love the freedom/flexibility with my children and wife. That family time is priceless, but this work is killing my soul and my wife sees it. We are struggling financially because of how bad it's gotten. 8 years doing this full time, my only income. I hate change and being uncomfortable. I like the familiar and my comfort zone, but I've got to change something. Being miserable all the time is no way to live. So much wasted time for nothing to pennies. It used to not be this way. The orders and pay just aren't there anymore. It's so bad I'm forced to take the $3 to $5 orders because it's that or nothing. My family depends on my income. One example - Driving 20+ minutes to Walmart to pick up an order, waiting 20 minutes to an hour, only to have it canceled because it's not in their system or someone else picked it up last week, and I get nothing. All that wasted time!!! Unacceptable. I've got to be out nearly 12+ hours a day 7 days a week to hopefully maybe scrape together enough money to pay the bills. So stressful. I have no life anymore. Running the car into the ground, spending tons on gas and maintenance, so much wasted time for such little pay. My family deserves better. This is not a wise use of time and I don't feel like a responsible provider. I'm honestly embarrassed, as a 51 year old, that this is where I'm at in life. No one to blame but myself. Pedro is smart and will find a way out of this.

    Pedro,
    I 100% understand what you're going through right now. The best thing you can do is keep pushing right now. I know it's hard and days like these make it challenging. Try to stay positive and look for alternative way to better yourself and the income you bring in. I always thought life itself was a learning lesson. It's just on the matter on what path you're willing to go. You can take the easy way out and do nothing. Or,look at this a challenge that you, yourself will overcome. Always twll yourself,this isnt longtime. That this is just an obstacle thats in your way. I believe youll overcome this and learn from this experience itself.Yes,the door closed with you on Doordash and the orders on Uner eats is bad. Dont let this put you down. Push yourself to learn other things. Push yourself to find other ways to make money. Find that inner drive and use this frustration as a way to fuel you. Once you overcome this,keep leaning new ways to better yourself and your families life. You live, you learn, you grow. You got this!

  • @Daledugahole
    @Daledugahole Před 2 měsíci

    If the delivery apps expect their customers to pay the driver in the form of a “tip”then they should lower the merchant fees and in turn, the merchants can lower their food prices, then most customers would be happy leave an upfront tip for the drivers. I deliver in Australia where we don’t have tipping so the delivery apps have no choice but to pay us if they want us to accept an order. The positives of this is that we don’t have to mess around with “no tip” orders but the negative is that food prices are higher because wages costs are higher and delivery is extremely expensive, meaning it’s a premium service and not as busy during off-peak hours

    After getting a better vehicle, I stopped doing food and grocery delivery and started focusing on Uber/Lyft. I do take Delivrd orders when they come in too. Spark has declined in my area and will occasionally do it on a Sunday when it’s busier. I live in San Antonio, TX and rideshare is pretty good, especially at the airport. I’ll even take some nice 1 hour trips, like passenger’s going to Austin, or Kerrville, and filter to get me rides to get me back home. Sometimes I’ll just work a little in Austin too. I go with the flow all day and stress free 😊Good luck Pedro 🙏🏼💗
