damn i cant wait for antlers, i just like this kind of stuff based on myths and legends. plus wendigo is hella cool monster in my personal opinion.
Same. Love Wendigo lore. One of my favorite horror movies, Ravenous, is based off of Wendigo, and it's great and has my favorite film score (co-written by Damon Albarn from Blur and The Gorillaz). Really, really pumped for this.

That's like saying that Friday The 13th doesn't have any sequels based on the fact that Jason's mother was the killer in the first one and every other one featured Jason as a supernatural monster.
And Halloween 3: Season of The Witch isn't a sequel because it doesn't have Michael Myers in it....
So basically what OP said boils down to something like them watching Star Wars: The Force Awakens, sees a lightsaber, and says, "Star Wars called, they want their lightsabers back".

I have never pressed forward on something so quick in my life .
The art of good horror is gone. These directors are too reliant on old worn out tactics. Before, there had to be a good story, great lighting, pacing, tension, atmosphere. The kind of stuff that would make the experience psychologically uncomfortable. There are a few recent ones like Hereditary and Midsomer that were unnerving but generally this genre is really anodyne now.
You haven't seen Korean horror movies, those are pretty good.

Spirits, slashers, spirits, slashers... sigh... I can't stand that anymore... So repetitive, so dull, so predictable... Maybe there'll be a good surprise among these, but I won't know, 'cause I won't watch any of these, with the exception of Antlers. Looks to me that a good old monster movie is what still remains fresh in horror movies these days.

@@prestons4988 Yes, I agree with you. At least, this is a new take on the old "horror from out of space" genre that brings some novelty to the big screen. The first one was pretty good. Let's hope they won't ruin the idea with this sequel. Given the lack of ambition and the adverse risk-taking mentality that most movie makers exhibit these days, I still have my doubts...
@@jdog7797 Absolutely. I also loved "The Ritual". Every bit of it. It was a simple movie, with some good characters development, and a suggested, rather than exhibited threat that was all the more effective for not being shown. The setting in the woods was top notch. "Late Phases" was kind of an oddball. Good photography, excellent character, an effective narration: the only drawback, in my view, was the actual look of the monsters. A little more werewolf-like, just like in the "Bad Moon" werewolf movie of 1990s fame, would have corrected this "flaw" (suggestive, of course...) efficiently.
The last one seems more sad than horror :(

no it wouldn't, a suppressor on an ar-15 only reduces the sound by 30 or so decibels, so even with a suppressor you are still looking at around 100-130 decibels, which is way louder than a person screaming
although something like a VSS or AS VAL might work, assuming you are using sub-sonic rounds
