Sorry to say it, but Covey isn’t making the team, hopefully we can keep on practice squad. Gainwell has also let me down, last year he just didn’t look very good. He wouldn’t even be in the top 50-60 Rbs in the NFL

Way too much deference toward DeJean. He’s a nickel CB and should beat out Maddox, but he can’t play boundary CB in the NFL. If he shows he’s a better player than Blankenship then move him to safety. Quinyon Mitchell is one boundary CB; sign or trade for the other one before 2025 when both Slay and Bradberry are less expensive to move on from.
FYI... eagles and other teams think DeJean can play outside or inside CB+match up CB in nickel vs TEs.
Why did you decide he can't play out?
Question isn't that he can or can't play on the outside (teams didn't have that concern); it's how teams saw him playing long-term and that's where the safety projection came in and why he dropped to the 2nd round.
Eagles had no issue with him playing outside CB for them, which is why some teams that play zone heavy had a first round grade on him.
@@InsideTheBirds No, he dropped to the 2nd round because he's not a first round talent. He made plays at Iowa by anticipating and jumping routes. Not sure he can outsmart NFL offenses. Time will tell
