They were taking their time - and the lights changed. He was giving warning that he was going. I don't see a problem with the driver at all - just the idiot pedestrians
The pedestrian signals are advisory only and they were crossing at a reasonable pace. Maybe they were just warning them but they shouldn't have proceeded at that time. The Highway Code says

@@QiuEnnanYou're completely right, although honestly I don't think the driver did anything really wrong. It was likely just helpful that the pedestrians knew the traffic was starting and to be aware.
No idea what on earth the driver who overtook you after the turn did... That seemed close and unnecessary!
The driver should wait until the pedestrian is safely out of the way.
Green lights only say you can go if the way is clear.
