  • This is an DIY pond skimmer that's effective and efficient. I bought all the parts from Home Depot which cost around $15, the pump is separate of course. This skimmer is really effective at skimming the top water in your pond which will help to give your pond that Crystal clear water.

The best floating skimmer video I've seen so far because:
    A) The parts are obtainable
    B) The explanation exists
    C) No irritating music
    Thank you

I know this is a year old but I have to say thank you! I’ve watched a dozen of these tonight and yours was the first one that made sense! I am not dumb and I’m pretty damn handy so I was getting so frustrated with all the half assed explanations! I really appreciate you showing each piece in full and explaining how they worked. You rock!!! Thanks again!

You need to show how it collects debris and how it is maintained (floating junk easily removed) to keep the pump from clogging.

This is genius! Thank you for the very thorough explanation. I see you have no trees to worry about! But I wonder if you can design a skimmer cup that will catch leaves off the surface without catching fry? Thank you!!

Of course not because it's a complete piece of shit. That idiot has an outdoor aquarium, not a pond.

Fantastic idea...I cannot put in a store bought filter as my coping is all cemented in and there is no good place to break through ..this will work brilliantly 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 thank you kindly. My question is can I make the floatation slots bigger to catch bigger debris and leaves or will they float over the top and into the basket?

Why no demonstration of it in the water? That whole thing including pump goes in the water? What is the black pipe coming from pump? How are you power ing pump?

      I used 3 (CTP-16000) which is 4,200 gal/hr and consumed 140watts and 1 (CTP-12000) 3,200 gal/hr and consumed 100watts. They cost around $75 for each on Ebay, search ctp-16000
