I was six the Christmas I emptied the wine glasses the adults had abandoned.
My dad was beyond angry because it had started with my Granma then my uncle both pouring me a little glass of Elderberry.
After that I figured what the heck, there's plenty of this stuff around and apparently it's free.
To this day some 40 years later I get a bottle of Elderberry wine every year for a holiday treat. Trust me, the stuff that's wrong with me didn't happen from the wine. 😂

That was the deposit, not the full price. The bride was saying they paid in full in cash but the dressmaker said they only gave her a £500 deposit.
The dresses were falling apart! The other dress maker, (the woman I can’t remember her name) hers don’t fall apart, at all, and if the Irish girl went and got dresses from a shop because the dress shop said she only paid a deposit, I’m sure she paid in full, that’s one thing they don’t try and lie about, their dresses and weddings, they pay a fortune for it, so I think maybe one of the shop assistants said they didn’t pay it and kept the money, or maybe only the owner was there and didn’t know if she paid one of her assistants, why would u say u paid and then lie about it, and then go and spend more money on off the rail dresses, she needed the dresses, AND they were cheaply made and falling apart, I felt for her, she can’t have her dad there as it is, so it’s a sad and upsetting day as well as a happy and exciting day, I couldn’t have my daddy at my wedding to give me away, he died in the march and I was married in the august, I wish all these beautiful girls all the best in life xoxo 💋 ❤😊❤😊

I was torn about whether they paid, I would’ve made sure and gotten a legitimate receipt to prove I paid if I was giving them that kind of $. Hopefully if they did pay they sued them if it works like that over there.

One poor makeup artist was short of £2000 for all the make up she did for the bride, bridesmaids and other family members. She didn’t check the envelope until after she had packed up and got home and that was a gypsy wedding.
I can't help but think that in that sea of gaudy, simple and elegant would stand out like a beacon.

They visit the graves of the dead and the kids run riot and damage the other graves. They steal from other people's graves. They are loud and disrespectful towards other people visiting their loved ones graves, they leave rubbish around other peoples graves. They don't have any respect!!
There is a reason people don't welcome them when they pitch up on land that doesn't belong to them and in their business's.
They con everyone they can - even that shop with the wedding dresses, they tried to intimidate (a common practice for gypsies) and act like they didn't know they only paid the deposit and intimidate the business's into either getting the dresses for the deposit or arguing down to a far lower price than originally agreed so, they'll offer to pay another £100 ontop of the £500 deposit and so often, these businesses will back down because its easier and they are just grateful for anything. Its all bullying and intimidation.

A lot of the traveller women are beautiful, cultured, loyal, and love being mothers. They also put a lot of effort into their appearance. The men seem to f*ck, drink, and fight... and not much else. I suppose their jobs are holding the show together, but most of them seem wild (like the Joyces) or dumb (like the ones on the usual gypsy wedding videos.)
These woman are treated very badly,disrespectfully,and as slaves. Gypsy woman are not equal to the men,they are to do everything but work. They get abused physically,mentally and emotionally. They are to do as they are told and do not have a voice.

There is a lot of mistreatment towards Gypsy's and travelers, especially with no sites for them to park their campers, not being able to rent venues, etc.. But the way they say country people talk bad and discriminate against them... They're doing the same towards country people. Saying they'd never be friends with them, don't have morals, etc they've said they don't talk or know country people personally so they can't say everyone is the same, just like not every traveler is the same.
We have a few permanent sites in and around our county plus the travellers are settling in the new builts dotted around the once empty fields. But growing up 30+ years ago I was friends with some settled travellers. The mother was divorced but she also ran an extremely successful business which meant she became a millionaire by the time her 6 children were teenagers.
She didn't want her children marrying another traveller because they'd kicked her out and abandoned her with all her children when she left her abusive husband.
But 'county people' had taken her in and got her back on her feet. Out of her 6 children 1 passed away, 1 is in prison, 2 run her business with her, 1 is a teacher and 1 is a paramedic.
There's no mistreatment of these people!! These people mistreat EVERYONE!! They destroy everything in their path.
And stop with the "not enough sites" - they don't want sites to settle onto as then they'd have to pay bills:- council tax, water, electric, rent etc and if that isn't bad enough for them, they'd have to be accountable for how and where they make their money meaning paying NI and tax. Also meaning they would be accountable for their untrained, unskilled, uninsured work they do and be expected to have liability insurance, proper training, health and safety procedures in place, have proper company registration so they can be traced etc etc travellers don't want any of that so they don't want to go on sites. Unlike the rest of us, they keep every penny they con/steal/'work' for and don't care about the rest of society.
Travellers play victims and blame everyone else for bullying them because gullible people like you simply believe what they say from a 60 minute, glorified programme and don't have the common sense to question "WHY"!!

Second, nothing says you can't honor those who have passed at the Mass. Set aside seats for them with their pictures, wear something you have of theirs (like a necklace or a hair clip), and have them remembered during the intercessionary prayers and Eucharistic Prayer. If they had favorite hymns, you can have those played. Work with the priest, and you'll find lovely ways to make your loved ones present. If your family has any unique traditions, do those and use whatever family heirlooms you can (being Mexican, I was married with my abuelitos' lasso. If you have something like that, perfect!) And you can have anyone walk you down the aisle: an uncle, a brother, a close cousin, even an aunt or friend.

If a woman drinks heavily during pregnancy there are very specific defects in the offspring, both mental and physical, varying in degree. I've spotted this FAS look in many of these shows.
I'm curious if Travelers trust doctors and get prenatal care?
Do they do home births assisted by their female relatives?
And I'm not necessarily blaming the mom who gives birth to a FAS baby because many girls didn't get schooling to teach about the dangers associated with alcohol, and most of them can't read so they can't even read the warnings, which in my country are printed right on the bottles.

My family has gypsy roots,waaaay back though,my mammy never lived in a caravan but growing up she would constantly change the living room, bedrooms,even kitchen cupboards (having to get used to where the plates are and then when you are used to them she moves them again was a nightmare 😂) but the thing I respect the most about travellers is their reverence towards the dead,the amount of love and respect they show,I admire it.
My mother was a night owl, and sometimes we'd wake up in the morning to find all the furniture moved.

In America it is considered very rude to try an out dress the bride. It's her day not anyone else's. And the bride's maids pays for their own dresses if they want to be in the wedding. That's a gift to the bride.

In England it's considered very rude to make a person you have invited to be part of wedding pay for the dress you've chosen which may or may not be in their budget. We pay for the bride to go on her hen night and the dresses, hair and makeup for the bridesmaids is paid for as a thank you for being part of her big day. After all you don't usually get to choose the style of dress, makeup or hair because the bride does it. I've seen lots of stories where women in the US don't understand why it's unspeakably rude to wear white to a wedding but the beauty of life is there are different cultures everywhere
