New shed is working perfectly. Only suggestion is set up a foldable table at your crush so you’re not bending down over and over again to grab your equipment. Looks awesome 👍🏻🇨🇦💪🏻☘️
Wow look at that set up your living the dream now, the microphone set up worked really well and the sound was great,😊
Make sure you have a lynch pin or cotter pin in the top hinge of every gate to stop them getting lifted off.
Great system and video.
Was really neat to hear your thoughts on the microphone as you were working. New crush is awesome
Looks great! Glad you are pleased. 👍😊👍
I can see a skid steer being a great addition to the farm.
Run a bar down the length of the race above will stop them jumping up.
Great set up!
Hello Crawford glad your back in full flow. Is there any chance we could have a talk with your dad.and here the history of the farm please
Looks like it’s working good mic 🎤 is good to 👍
Stress free for both operators and animals....win win. Must admit to feeling a bit of envy ☺️
It might be worth having a bag or two of sawdust handy if the exit to the crush gets slippy. They seemed very reasonably relaxed and it looks a really good system.👍
The step up into the crush didn't seem like it bothered them today. So much easier for you already and in a month's time everything will be super slick.
The microphone was great.
Living the dream in the new shed, great to see it's all come together 👌👍👍
Great video Crawford. Definitely the new handling system makes life easier for ye. Enjoyed watching. 👍🏼
Pretty slick and fairly relaxed apart from the the pilot error at the start 🤣
Well wouldn’t like to put a cost on the full handling system but worth every penny Looks so easy , safe and a flowing Going to be a great asset to your cattle breeding system
That is a mighty fine piece of kit you have set up. Health to enjoy it.
Great video Crawford that makes life so much easier now working with cattle first day is always finding your way it’s some set up 💪👌👌
The race set up looks superb Crawford and the tepari handling works a treat. Loved the microphone and camera at a distance filming set up too. Stay well 👌🏻
That’s a great system. The shed is mighty. Best of luck with it.
Love the set up 👍..You should have clipped there backs out as well to keep them from sweating 🥵..
Worked great. 👍. What I like about it is how relatively quiet the crush is. No mad clattering of steel. Just keeps the beasts nice and calm. Which makes me think of nylon sleeves/bushes around the pins on the gates /spring bolts.
Your cattle are in terrific condition.
Ref.your feed issue, how about a galvanised sheet sloping from rear half way ,it would force feed to front by gravity. Cheers Phil
You could do with a bench or cupboard in your work area, beside the crush. You should have your father in more videos, maybe a q&a about the history of the farm?!!!
Great video Crawford, looked like it all flowed nicely!
works a beauty, thanks guys
Make sure they test for rumen fluke too. Not many options on dosing for it though. Only the yongstock needed dosing on mine this year, so the savings not dosing the cows more than paid for testing 👌
A good first test of the handling system.... And only one smashed computer... 😉
Beautiful shed and animal 🥇🐂🇳🇴
That might have been a good idea to walk the cattle through the first time with out doing anything to get them used to it have you thought about a volume washer to clean around and through it
We want more of Crawfords dad
You'll have it down to a fine art in no time at all.
Farm dogs aren't allowed to run free. Glad I live out in the sticks as there is a few crofters dogs that run free and roam the village when they aren't working
Great video keep up the great work 👌👍How are you going to scrap the scrap passage
Hi Crawford, very impressed. Hopefully Mr Niven snr is impressed too?
Looks amazing job. Great to be able to work inside in this weather. One thing to keep an eye on is I did my own cattle would that exact pour on and it didn’t really work was talking to my Vet, and he said the cattle had too much hair on their back and didn’t absorb the product, so just keep an eye on that. Love the videos.
Will do cheers for mentioning that
Rome wasn’t built in a day dude , will run like a Swiss watch in time . Every days a school day 👍🏻🏴🚜
Open the side gate to dose your catch you arm
It's cows ..not cuws ..spoken here in Ireland..🤣🤣🤣
That's what we used to do back in the 80s and 90s
Have you thought about how your going to scrape out the handle area and personally I would of put the bake feeder into more space for the cows and roll out bales I. The feed passage and put the feeding on to if the bales
Why don't you get and un roller to feed to the bales out
Couple questions are you still doing the podcast and are you gonna get straw bedder but brilliant vid and the best farming CZcamsr out there
Love the vids
My system isn't roofed so I'm slightly envious lol.
As you have a central feed passage why the small feed bunks???
Get a old plastic tub with some old oil fuel mix to dip the clippers in every now and again
Mic is neither here nor there, maybe a bit worse because you're not looking at the camera when explaining stuff so you do less pointing and gesturing.
11:01 Is the new floor quite slippery?
Scrape passage is textured so just the low bedded area at the gate a little slippy
Looks so much less stressful than the old set up for both man and beast.
Were PADS being over enthusiastic on your land or had the dogs genuinely run off?
They went wandering together… cant leave them together
Good looking set up now have to buy a dairy hand scraper for tidying up hope you got the two dogs out of jail😂
Do you have enough water supply to get a large hose to wash it all down once your finished, keep it all neat and tidy?
Will be able to nice bore hole & pump is connected
Set up looks great.
What happened with the dogs? I’m from Ireland so haven’t heard of it.
I was trying to understand that as well, didn’t quite get it
Same!
same. Googled pads, they've been picked up as stray dogs by pads and they must charge for you to get them back
Is it good editing or are you and your dad much more relaxed all said and told doing this job…initial teething problems excluded 😂😂😂
Can you elaborate who PADS are and why did they pick your two dogs up?! And also, why you have to pay £40 each to get them back?!
Watch out using Eagles music on your videos. They are one of the strictest bands to hit anyone using their music without permission. Good job you only sneaked in a few seconds.
New shed and system looks good. Is it worth putting some of your fat cattle in new shed too ?
👍🏼 they are in now
I didn’t think you test for fluke if test that they have it is not too late want dosing once in backend anyway should not be shaving there backs before put on pour on
Bet you and ur dad are enjoying a sheltered handling area no? haha
No need to worm cows as they build up immunity
What and who picked up your dogs? Sounded like they’re being held for ransom.
Caught that as well, but I thought maybe he meant the vet or someone and having to pay them? Didn't sound too bothered, that's why I didn't think he really meant kidnapped.
@@s.m.1959 it was PADS, picked up as strays and have to pay to get them back i think
you brushed over it very casually, but did you say your dogs got stolen and then you had to pay a ransom to get them back?
Could be wrong but guessing he maybe meant the vet and having to pay them? If not, sure we'll find out more about it soon.
After googling, I believe PADS is Perthshire Abandoned Dogs Society so I'm guessing that they were roaming and someone has reported dogs on their own and have been collected
That makes more sense! I thought he was very relaxed about it. Pads means something else to me.
Same here thought pads were torn or something but last time that happened cost me £100 plus including some antibiotics for infection so I thought £40 was cheap lol..
