    “New HollywoodI starts with Apocalypse Now, Jaws and Star Wars and ends at Pulp Fiction, Desperado, and Clerks. There’s a ramp up and down on either end of that timeline, but that’s where it starts and ends.

      Our understanding is that it started in the late 60s with the rise of the lower budget auteur films like Easy Rider, The Graduate and others and ended around 1980 when the studios buttoned up and gave less money to those auteur films. The films of the 90s you're referring to are usually categorized in their own wave, especially since you have a bunch of new directors coming into the fold

    Would you agree with me that The Godfather, The Exorcist, Jaws & Star Wars are the four most influential films of the 70s and that more or less, every subsequent big Hollywood movie follows into their footsteps?
