- i'm back in beijing...for a few days:) let's walk around old neighborhoods at sunset, and zone out at cute cafes no one knows about, because even though I'm here as a tourist, beijing will forever and always feel like home.
as we move around trying out different cities in our twenties, we inevitably leave behind our childhood home, our old friends, and past lives. but we take the memories with us. I hope this vlog gives you comfort. sending lots of love💌

Thank you🫶it’s always been my goal to upload once a week, and I have consistently failed at it for the past 4 years. I realized there must be something wrong with my approach. This year I’m giving up on ruling myself with an iron fist, and treating myself with compassion, so that I only post videos from the bottom of my heart. I think that will lead to more videos over all - and hopefully I’ll get to one video a week soon:)
I like this approach to reading a book, taking yourself to the places they've been must really change how you understand things. Thanks so much for this different outlook :)
The best experience I had in that regard, was when I was reading a book called Exciting Times in Hong Kong, and read about the main characters eating salad from M&S, and realized I had just had salad from M&S at HK botanical garden the day before...I smiled all day because of that:)

the last passage from the book you read us is very true. i have crippling anxiety and leaving the house was always a big deal for me but one day i found myself leaving the house casually just the way i would walk to my living room and i noticed i can find this comfort of home anywhere within myself

Since I watched and followed your vlogs, I've always wanted to take myself on a date, love traveling and experiencing alone. your videos make me feel better and relaxed in some ways naturally. I watch all your videos and I love them. and recently really being in love with the Chinese book philosophy and calmness, would you mind if you recommend me a Chinese book that doesn’t have much advanced words(I’m in intermediate level in Chinese)
So glad to hear you are interested in Chinese books!! tbh I haven’t read lots of Chinese books lately, and because I’m a native speaker of Chinese, I don’t really notice if a book is “advanced” or not:( a general rule of thumb when I read English books - I find YA books tend to be easier to read. hope this helps!

what are chinese's opinion on tourist/foreigners?
hmmm I'm not sure how to answer that...people are very friendly in general, and the government is doing a big push to attract more foreign tourists. Personally I feel like if you haven't been to China it's one of those place that can be very different from what's portrayed in the media - in a good way!
