  • 'Tohle nechcem' or 'budem tam' are phrases that you can hear from Czech natives. These forms are also correct but they are used in an informal context. Google Translate is confused with phrases like this and thinks it refers to 'já-person'. Find out when and how to use these forms.
    Note about the exercise: Phrase 2 should have been translated as 'What are THEY doing here?'

    Why the question no. 2 translated in english as (what are you doing here?) Since you used the word dělají which is for oni (they)? Im just confuse thats why im asking.😊

      Oh no, I forgot to change it! Sometimes, when I add English translation, I copy it from Google translator to save time, and then I edit the errors. Here it escaped my attention! Thanks for pointing it out. It's also proof of how confused Google translate is with these forms!

    dobry den, i saw in some czech phrases "ta kniha, vidíš ji" why is it not "vidis to"

    • @CzechbyZuzka
      @CzechbyZuzka  Před 2 měsíci +1

      'Kniha' is of feminine gender, therefore we use 'ji' as a pronoun to refer to it ('her').
      Same here:
      Tady je pizza. Chceš ji?
      A co ta káva? Dáš si ji?
      'Vidíš to' can be used for a situation or something where we cannot determine a gender (Vidíš to? - Can you see that? - e.g. the object flying).
      Did this help you?
