be sure to watch The Loss of Sexual Innocence if you can get a copy one of my all time favorites - poetry on film - I recommend knowing nothing about it going in
great film! one of my best! I can't remember how many times I watched this movie... and by the way, good interview (love Elizabeth Shue and Nicolas Cage. Nice performance)
2024,..archive footage shows us the construction of an interview. These two takes must have been, inter-spliced for the final presentation. The first version can almost stand on its own, but we get a complete picture when we see a balance between the interviewer and Mike. Her reactions to his comments, the back and fourth, makes for a dynamic interview.
2024......The soundtrack for this movie is also excellent, I have it on cassette. The version I have has the music, and even some examples of the movie dialog between Sera & Ben.
The scene where he gets hammered at the casino he says something like that's my son, you cant take away my son. Or something like that. To me this explains some of his pain.
2024,...I have watched this movie many times since it came out, and had very different reactions to it over the years. I am fascinated by the thinking and psychology behind it. It is a very dark film from a psychological standpoint, and I welcomed the moments of wry humor. I got a kick out of watching Cage shopping for booze,....such a happy alcoholic. Addicts can be the life of the party. Nobody goes to Vegas to cure a bad habit. Its a fantasy get-away place that encourages out of control behavior. Its a welcoming place for addicts of everything. Gambling, Booze, Drugs, Sex, and even food. The ultimate Sin City. Access to excess could be their motto.
One of my favorite movies.
Great soundtrack too
two great actors together...we need more movies like this one...
Leaving Las Vegas is my favorite movie. Thank you for uploading this

Did anyone pick up on the irony of Mike holding a drink whilst talking about a film about alcoholism?
I mean, he is the Kling Klang King of the Rim Ram Room after all… isn’t he?
The author of the book actually took his own life. So, it was probably somewhat autobiographical .

It's a great movie, one of the best, but for my money nowhere near the top of that particular list.
