- Simple Man Guitar Tutorial - With Picking Pattern
Learn how to play Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd on guitar. Included beginner level strumming pattern along with more intermediate picking pattern that can be used throughout the song.
The chords in Simple Man guitar lesson are very easy. C, G and Am repeated over and over again. The tricky part comes from the picking pattern which has a lot of up and down movement. I'm going to show you 4 measures of picking that can be used for the entire song. This guitar tutorial focuses more on the acoustic guitar aspects of the song, not the heavy electric parts.

I thought I'd give this song a go and strumming version is easy but I wanted to play it how it sounds on the recording, been watching other videos but couldn't make out what strings they were saying to pick... Great tutorial! Lauren, I’m a beginner and I got most of this but don’t understand the step up after the last a minor picking into the strumming and the song.
