  • Linguahouse is a website that offers a wide-range of educational material for ESL learners. In addition to its lesson plans which are tailor-made for all levels of general and business English, the website is continually expanding to include exam-preparation, breaking news lessons and more. The website even goes so far as to provide comprehensive structured course plans and an app for students to review material.
While much of the material is free, educators can pay to reach the Access+ and Freelancer membership tiers. There are also two options for student users: Free and Premium. This video aims to weigh up the pros and cons of using Linguahouse as a teaching resource.

Nice! I am propably going to sign up for the teacher Freelancer membership. It will really help for providing mulitmedia content and programs for my learners

Superb review. It provided the push I needed to start using the site reviewed. I shall be adding it to the resources I use for the extracurricular English class I run in my school.

Do you know if all videos have transcripts that students can read out loud? I would love to get a subscription but some of the videos, I didn't see transcripts. Thanks.

Hi Becca. From what it looks like, it seems that most of the lessons do come with transcripts. These can be found in the "Teacher Lesson Plan" document. Hope this helps!

How do you take the materials off the worksheets to use?

Be careful with this service. It is a scam. I was charged and then the service never was activated. Countless emails and no reply. Be careful!

It appears you have an active account now. We have served almost one million teachers, schools and students over 14 years. Occasionally our users run into technical issues like with every online service, but they tend to get solved pretty quickly. It seems you didn't get our messages.
