Is nobody gonna talk about what a good guitarist she is? like damnnnnn! Super cool!
I will, she rips. Plus that jag sounds fantastic!
I was thinking exactly this as I was watching. Absolute guitar goddess! And the two guitars give me a kind of Television-y vibe in how well they complement and support each other, and each do interesting things at all times.
Is good, I agree 🤙
Her unique vocals are definitely much better. Her guitar work is great for sure.
She's not a bad singer either!
Fantastic performance!

Actually didn't expect this
Reminds me of the best local bands of the 90s nobody ever heard, like your favorite local band that should be something but are probably too cool and not chasing a trend enough for people to see them correctly. Plus alot of my favorite bands from back then too. They feel natural and real, a band with actual personality. I love how thats becoming more the focus with people instead of genre concepts that become parodies. All those cool bands didnt know what they were, just who they were, which they couldnt help or wouldn't want to change.
Yeah. Make me feel teenage again listening to this band, when music and the world seemed a little more simple.
that was a fun nostalgia story that has no basis in reality
Idk, this band is fine but they sound like literally every other indie rock band from the last 8 years.
Tyler Davis couldn’t be farther from the truth
yes! i miss Velocity Girl.
3:27 the way she says "find" is way different than the album version and it's such a nice touch
sounds like built to spill.
cloudwatcher I was thinking they sounded like a slightly more mellow built to spill, with a female vocalist. Idk why but they just do.
nick sweet makes me think of robert smith
This comment is the one! Always look for something different and new out of a live performance, that’s what makes it worth revisiting. Also big ups for Melted, one of the greatest garage rock/psych punk records ever!!
The way she sings "Slug" in the Audiotree performance is my personal favorite. She puts a little distortion in there and it sounds so fucking good.
People complaining about her voice: you do know this is indie rock, right? Sometimes more enjoyable than a perfect voice is reaching for that one note and not quite grabbing it. Lighten up.
I think she has a good voice its just that when you see someone live, they should hit the notes of their damn songs man.
I like her authenticity and lilting, shifting notes. It's real music, man.
you are talking to the generation that has grown up watching fake-reality TV shows where douchebags do karaoke versions of NSYNC songs to a backing track, and we are supposed to call them talented musicians
frarfarf I assure you no person who finds this music great grew up watching singing competitions. This is good indie rock. Compelling in its imperfections. Move along if you have nothing to say.
@@sonichallbartender dude you could not have misunderstood me more if you tried. Firstly, I love this music. My post was talking to 'the people complaining about her voice' as the OP referenced. These complainers are the ones who think everything is a singing contest and they are completely missing the point.
OK- her coolness factor just increased by 10x now that I know she plays ice hockey....
She sounds amazing! I don't know about you, but I rather listen a vocalist with lots of feeling and emotion than "perfectly" sung performance with no sentiment. This show made me like them even more now
Agreed
Amazing? The vocals are garbage
@@paintsilj let’s hear your song chief
@@mattpark746 I'm not a singer. And nor is she. She doesn't sound amazing. Very average.
@@paintsilj its good for some people, relax
As a 41 year old this reminds me of the music i listened to as a child. Pixies and such. I love it keep it up
This is exactly why KEXP is the best actual introductory on new music. Well done Snail Mail!
Her voice is so STRONG! Obsessed with this band. I can't wait to see them live in Richmond VA
I'm nearly 60 and this is some of the best songwriting I've heard in a lifetime of loving almost every musical genre. Her band is super tight and this is a real pleasure to immerse myself into. A rare talent.
Go hear Car Seat Headrest, it has one of the best songwriting I've heard
@@alexanderarea6157 or modest mouse, absolutely UNREAL lyrics
As a former member of 1988-92 fuzzy guitar rock with pretty vocals genre I love that these kids are doing it so well. Pretty voice with in- determinant chords a wash in fuzz; what is not to love?
Such a cool and talented band. Got to love their sound too..
Man, you are everywhere.
Lindsey is such a talented songwriter! Great performance and album of the year for me so far.
0:27 Heat Wave
6:34 Golden Dream
15:46 Pristine
21:52 Let's Find An Out
15:21 Pristine :)
20:04 when she couldn't get the lryics "we can" out in "we can be anything". That made me feel some typea way man oh man
This connects with me on a spiritual level. Fucking flawless songwriting.
They should do a cover of "1979" by The Smashing Pumpkins. This is just a random thought lol, but I'm sure they would sound amazing.
That would be cool.
I agree boi
Good call
its cool.
Lol thats funny my sister just said that this track reminds her of that song!
i've only recently found this group, but in the short time i've known them, i've listened to lush 25-30 times and i'm going to see this them week. god damn - they are AMAZING.
this is the most indie indie band I've seen in a while
Very happy that the band got a recording contract. Their first release (Lush) is exceptional. Can’t wait to hear more.
I want that red fender jaguar
I have the same guitar in blue, it's the best guitar I've ever owned.
Looks like a special edition with different switches, too!
I have the same one in the same colour. Always kinda wish I got a jazz master instead though, I coukd never part with it though it has way too much sentimental value now
@@mightyV444 I'm pretty sure it's an American Professional Jaguar. The Johnny Marr jaguar has a similar control scheme
@@plankerton90 - Yes, you're right! I've meanwhile done my own research, too! ;-)
This brings back memories of when I started listening to indie rock in the early '90s and why I fell in love with this kind of music
it's so good. I love how much intensity she puts in her singing even though the songs seem quite 'monotone' - it really does it for me.
She has awesome voice, it is like new dimension
So smart beyond her years. Every time I see this I think "Holy shit!!"
Love that she likes Alvvays. Both their debut album and Lush are among my favorites
Love the freshness and honesty of this
"Heat Wave" is my song of 2018. She's so much wiser than her years and a voice like a beautifully untuned-violin.. Holy crap and playing MSG in 2019!!!! The interaction with Megan is R-E-A-L.
As someone who typically enjoys heavier rock, this is not exactly what I expected to enjoy, but I’m loving this album, primarily for Lindsey’s vocals. 👍
God bless that drummer. She often slows the time just enough to create anticipation and he keeps the beat steady
Wow. I love coming to KEXP for new music. This is just amazing
Fabulous, saw her supporting Interpol at Madison Square Gardens. Love it!
That’d be awesome. This would be the perfect band to get me stoked for my OG NYC gloom merchants.
Beautiful! In tears during Pristine. Thanks, Snail Mail and KEXP.
YES!! Been waiting for this to be posted!! I was touring KEXP the afternoon this was recorded and was able to sit in on the majority of the performance in the sound booth with my husband and my 6 year old son!! SO AWESOME! This group is going to be HUGE!
The sound engineer nailed it!
Those drums sound like the song thic
I KNOW huhu
100%, sound quality is top notch and well balanced.
Sometimes some bands sounds better than the original album studio version.
Snail Mail Rules!
Said No One.
Just kidding, they’re good.
yes they do!
Pristine is soo guuuud !
Favourite song atm
Heat wave ftw
Wow. I turned this up very very loud and went for a cruise. Awesome. :)
This is theee best performance ive seen yet! awesome work guys!
I love this album. It reminds me of the music I listened to when I was their age. Especially The Swirlies :)
and the tip about The Alvvays was great. I didn't even know about that band.
Wow, love it. I really like her singing, gives it a nice edge. Cool band.
Just discovered this band yesterday and really enjoy their music. When I first got into playing guitar, alternative/grunge was what I played. This reminds of that time of my life. This band is super talented!
Fantastic!!!
So good, her voice is unique... I love MUSIC I'm not trained just a Fan of a lot of genres n as an olden.... 42 ... I LOVE hearing what this generation listens to. These fellas have a very mellow n beautiful vibe, many blessings to ya guys!!!! Namaste!!!
I don't know what it is but I just love her voice! So good!
Love this.
huh, normally i like their album versions a little better, but this recording knocks it out of the park for me. looking forward to seeing what they do next!
Love an original sound with a great songwriter and a refreshingly unique voice, just discovered them, love um
love this band, love her voice.......
I’ve been waiting for this!!!!!
I love that rhythm style lead guitar she plays. Can't wait to see them in Seattle in January
Johnny Marr-ish. Love the tone too.
Snail mail and car seat headrest have such similar energy
Snail Mail and Car Seat Headrest opened for Interpol at MSG. A case of the opening bands being way better than the headliner.
they're going to go places i can tell
oh thats for sure :)
If the drummer gets to practicing, that's true. I think his sloppiness is the one thing holding them back.
Ok look..if they are on kexp then they ALREADY made it!! This is where established, touring acts come to die, no jk, but really, you wanna find undiscovered groups try your local, all ages venue.
Wow!
This band deserves pure happiness.
Absolutely brilliant!
I've been waiting for this ever since they came on the radio here in SLC
im obssessed with her voice
This is a truly incredible performance, at this point I’ve rewatched this too many times to count 😅
Men I Trust please
Yes.
Yes! Fuck yes! That needs to happen!!!!!!!!!!!
bruh men I trust is god tier
yep, Men I Trust has the sickest melody ever :)) hope to see them one day on KEXP
HELL YES, my dude! 👌🏽
She's got great tone in her voice.
seeing them live next month, so pumped!
awesome!
She went to my highschool! This is fuckin dope
Good band, good tunes. Love 'em!!
Oh my god finally I love her music
Really love her songs.
I have so much respect for this girl almost half my age that plays like I always aspired to :)
One of my favs.
Just watched a great live Sleater Kinney show from 2015, on CZcams and the singer from this band is in the front row dancing with a huge grin on her face! So cool to see a spiritual link between these two great bands!
She’s wonderful
i waited so long for this lol
Class act!
Love her outfit!
I am in loveeee
amazing
This band is fucking awesome. Saw them this summer in Chicago and seeing them again in January!
Bill Garcia YOOO I just saw them last night in Chicago, they were amazing!!
love this, Lindsey! you're so talented
amazing guitar skills.
loved that wild-ass intro on Heat Wave xD
I love this performance she is a good artist and btw the host is beautiful
This is pretty good!
Great new edition to the indie rock genre.
I love this band, true indie artists. I also love KEXP, truly the best musician advocates in the business.
Cool voice!! Best rock 2022
love that jag
hell yeah, i think it's the johnny marr jag.
Good stuff.
Lindsay! Love you!
Really just do good!
omg,love it
also, Morgan, great job on the interview! ~ good flow
yooo they play so good as a band! was a bit skeptical of snail mail from just their albums but man, its a totally different experience live im sure :D keep the good work up guys !!!
You know how hard it is to play this song and sing at the same time? The way its played most of the time is so difficult to keep your mind on the words and timing.
That’s why you practice
cant wait to see her in singapore
who ever mixed this thank you 🙏
Damn that sounds good af
love it, saludos saludos desde Chile !
Singing this type of music genre takes a lot of effort not to cry when performing.
i fucken agree
Lmaooo
SUPER!!
holy shit this is awesome
im falling love
