- In a sold-out Studio 5 event on September 29, 2014, prima ballerina Wendy Whelan sinuously danced two Christopher Wheeldon duets and chatted with longtime friend Damian Woetzel about Jerome Robbins, aging, and their favorite New York City Ballet war stories. bit.ly/1Dn8Ies

When Wendy Whelan shares that she still feels she is not "good enough" it actually made me cry. She is such a goddess and maybe her humility too is what makes her so incredible. I've only met her once in person at Louisville Ballet where I was dancing and she came back to perform, she was magnificent and kind and beautiful inside and out. Love her!
Well said!
Wendy is, I feel, a superb "voice" for dance. A fragile and yet powerful beauty who effectively communicates the myriad of nuance and subtlety contained within the art form
Just watched it all again. Wendy's arms are exquisite!
Wendy Whalen....constantly reminding me, this Bitter Earth may not be so bitter after all.
That choreography was a masterpiece!!! Great technique and artistry by the dancers!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I adore Wendy so much, always have. It’s sad that she was pushed into retirement, I feel, way before she needed to. She was still dancing at the top of her game and should have been allowed to decide herself when to retire.
LOVE these two people!! They were wonderful dancers!!
I am thrilled to hear that she will be coming back in London. Can't wait.
That is so lovely. Thank you.
I'm so happy Wendy was rescued from her modern dance, bare feet days...and brought back into The New York City Ballet family!
Rescued? Snob!
lovely. thank you for sharing. with love from Cape Town.
Wonderful to see and hear her...Slightly later era of NYCB than mine...although I played the Wheeldon Ballets in Seattle...(Polyphonia...After The Rain....)....
Beautiful piece
I love the beautifully released movements. So tender and subtle.
