Lol, I usually don't put clips that have technical issues like that since it's an unfair advantage, however, given the situation she was in, it wouldn't have made a difference.
You still can, but there's something weird with the timing. I abused this so bad that oryx never killed me before the changes, now when I do it most of the time they still get damaged but they don't fall, leading to them losing half of their health but killing me right after.

Pre-rework if you melees an oryx while he dashed, your melee would still go through even if you were hit by oryx and thrown out of the animation. After the rework, if he hits you with the dash it will interrupt your melee. You can still melee oryx if you hit him before his dash connects but it's a very small window of opportunity. Throw the melee a little early and backing up while doing it gives you a little more time to work with. The larger the gap between you, the better.
@@IndeJimits a different thing. When you get meleed, start swapping instantly. Your enemy will just see you in the stagger animation while youre swapping to your weapon, and then once the swap is finished the enemy just sees the gun appear in your hand.

After the shield rework playing as mounty i feel like its much harder to time the shield melee vs oryx dash, the timing got harder (maybe dash hitbox got smaller?) i remember 90% of the time before the rework i could kill oryx and dont even get knocked back. now 50% i just miss the time or we both got knocked back. It is harder or just me being rust after a 5 months break?
They fixed it so your melee will no longer follow through if oryx connects his dash against you. It is still possible to get him mid dasd but the window is much smaller and earlier. You have to hit him before he collides with you, if he does hit, your melee is cancelled. It's much easier to side step the dash by baiting and sprinting instead.
I do have one in the works at the moment and plan to release it soon. It has been a lot more work than I anticipated and some life stuff came up putting roadblocks. I would estimate it is 70% done. I want to make it highly detailed and informative as possible.
I believe it actually is an intended mechanic that is currently visually broken. It makes sense why the mechanic to switch faster using the momentum of the guard break works and it even talks about it on the wiki page for Clash. If they fix the visual bug then it would be a fast swap using the turtle style. There is no way it is a bannable thing. Either way if they fix it or not, it is still a valid mechanic.
At this point not even oryx can counter this guy.
