Hey everyone! Hope your weeks are going well! Just a heads up that tomorrow the final edit of the Eastonmade 22MB Firewood Processor will be uploaded and live for 5:30am (US central time)! So make sure to stop by tomorrow and check it out! Also, there will be another special announcement related to the channel that will go live this weekend so stay tuned for that! Have a great Friday all!
When i saw the 22MB on the eastonmade channel I knew I saw something I really liked. What a beast! I just cut and stack for my own purposes but I'm starting to see the value of these pusher type splitters instead of the wedge type from Home Depot, Fleet Farm, or Menards, especially when it comes to the removable knifes. I think my next machine is going to be a Japa or similar, but a high end Japa like a 405 or something. Nothing production class like the 22MB, but enough to where I'm not touching the wood as much. That's my goal: handle the wood by hand as little as possible.
I am recovering from vaginal cancer. Found out it had spread to my lungs. You don't know how much your videos help me. You are so positive about it being a beautiful day. The birds singing and all. That you so much. I think the world of you. You are so kind to people and those wonderful barn wood cats. It's no wonder they follow you everywhere. You are so good to them. Any animal you see. Other than the wasp hornets that you crush!! Don't blame you there. You are a blessing to this ol lady!!
Probably said off camera - "John, please stack the wood this way so I can get to it with the grapple on my tractor and take it to the live deck of the processor" As a viewer, happy for your blessing to allow you to ramp up production while saving the wear and tear on your body. We can see that things are about to get serious.
Heartily agree! Happy for you Chris, I’ll admit I had a tough time going to work today after seeing all that beautiful free Ash and nicely stacked Maple. Had an overwhelming urge to find something for the 500i and 572xp to eat😉🪵
Sure is a good load of logs That's not a bad price especially the price of gas these days whereabouts are you I have a cousin that lives in Watertown and my sister-in-law lives in Palmyra you anywhere close have a nice night can't wait for tomorrow's video thank you
He was really good on the clam unloading the wood and kept it safe for you to get off pile and a good deal from Jason should be worth a cup of coffee another good show for me to watch you are no bull like how you do things was my line of work till heath made impossible to do god bless my friend
Great looking firewood Chris. It’s always a great day when logs get delivered. Your new Eastonmade will devour this in no time. Once again congratulations on your prosperous firewood business. 👌🏻🔥🇨🇦Brad
John is a Good Operator on that Rig. 😁 Lots of fire wood Chris. I has been raining here all day Friday and into Sat. maybe a half day. Soggy mess here. It is going to clear up for Mothers Day.
Nice job Chris & John. Bet you enjoyed doing a video where all you had to do was operate the camera. Boom cam shots were pretty cool. John is a pro, you are lucky to have someone close by like him as a supplier. The tree service ash looks pretty nice too. GNI
Always a great watch but to see that full load of Maple being delivered and the free Ash is great entertainment.. Busy splitting my two cords of Ash ready for the winter by hand here in the Uk.. Id much rather be there though.. Enjoy
Good morning Chris it’s amazing how accurate he is with that very very large tool great looking wood too when are you gonna bring out the MB 22 can’t wait have a great day
Tomorrow the final edit of the Eastonmade 22MB Firewood Processor first look will be uploaded and live for 5:30am (US central time)! So make sure to stop by tomorrow and check it out!
Love watching the skill he has unloading the logs and how he tries to make it easier to get to them 😊 Must be a hard way to make a honest living, but they work together to get by 😊😊
Sorry if I got any on the screen but I was drooling over the nice "Free" Ash load of logs! I would be a very happy camper to have a load that size everyday!😮😮 You do very nice work, John and we need some live coverage from the "Round Table of Knowledge" every morning!👍👍 Have a great time at the Frenzy this weekend, Chris and safe travels!
Hiya Chris, well ole John has to be the best I have ever seen with a grab! Boy is he good; just like an extension of his arm. That maple would be ideal for the EM processor? That ‘free’ ash looks good too! Anyways, better not keep you too long….you have some work to do now! Len (Devon 🇬🇧)/
Wish we had wood like that here. Nice and straight hardwood’s I have mesquite. Oak is north of me, some people like it for cooking. I prefer to smoke and grill with mesquite
Very nice looking logs Chris, I predict some serious bucking videos in our future, which is a good thing. You almost need to give Nephew Bo a call lol. Thanks for the video Chris, See you tomorrow my friend.
good that John is close and takes good care of you. I still have to find, cut, and haul to my wood yard to split and stack. But also I do not have the population base you do. I burn a lot of the wood I get and like it this way....Looking forward to more of your videos. Tom
So the other year someone posted on Facebook that near downtown of San Antonio, several old pecan trees had been cut down from several houses next to each other. I took my long bed Duramax with my 5x8 trailer and made two runs on two days . It’s nice and dry now and I have decided to cut with w a chop saw to save on the diameter of the cuts . So besides that I will get paid to trim trees , I would also collect free mesquite, live oak , ash , pecan trees when the city has the collection. For me , I didn’t have to cut em down and I can haul off what I need so I can chop it up to sell . This year I finally have a 20’ landscaping trailer w 4K’ expanded metal walls so I’ll be able to haul more free firewood. Helps offset the price of diesel. Good job that ya have Señor. PROBST !
I think it be a good idea for brother to go in and buy the Eastman wood processor. I think you can break it in good. Set up off side parking lot run processed wood in dump trailer. That way be easy to dump finished wood in certain sections on your yard.
Well do Share a tree service in Jason's! Great guys to work with the just dropped off some huge elm logs by me sometimes I get a little grizzle from them
Nice load of wood , over here on the western side of the state , It would cost $900 for that load of maple. I’m looking forward to seeing your new work saver. Keep on cutting
If you can get a load like that for $900 you better buy it all, the market rate for almost all wood is set by what the paper mills will pay and with fuel prices going up!!!!!, the going rate at all mills now is about $100-110 a pulp cord and that load was about 14 cords so $1400-$1500 is normal. $900 IS A STEAL!
That tour of the Guys woodyard that sells firewood to the chicago market seemed to get your attention. Looks like you decided to go big instead of going home, getting more mechanized looks like the way to go,for your back. If your going to stay in firewood looks like your headed the right way. Have a good one.
Here in Gallatin TN we got hard maple and everything burns great but eastern cedar here in TN we call it TN red cedar but depending on how people say it but it depends which state you live in
Thanks for the information. It is nice to get some confirmation of what I have been thinking. I just got 18 pulp cord of oak. I was figuring on getting 15 cord split and stacked... sounds like my guess was close to your numbers. I got mine for $100/cord and another guy was $110/cord here in west Michigan. So sounds pretty comparable to what you payed. Again, thanks for the information.
Congrats on getting a body saving machine, also a great time savings. Given that you actually get more like 12 cords from a 14+ load of logs the actual cost per produced cord of firewood is about $122/ realized cord.
Over New Brunswick a load worth 1700$ to 1800$ mix hardwood then I sell a cord of that at 275$ and there 12 to 13 cord a load i cut up and split 2 load a year
I'm in the Pacific Northwest, and kept hearing you refer to 'soft maple' and wondered what that is. Around here we have maple, and as a matter of fact, it's a preferable cord wood. But it's 'Big Leaf' maple. The other native species is 'vine' maple, but it doesn't grow to to a size to be harvestable for cord wood. Now I know what you were speaking of - 'Red' maple. Isn't native to the region. Big leaf and red alder are the preferred hardwood here. Softwoods are Douglas fir Western hemlock Spruce, Red Cedar, and at higher elevations, Alaska Yellow cedar, the latter two mainly split into kindling. We have cottonwood, but no one really wants to use it for cord wood. We also have White and Black birch, which I've burned, but it burns down pretty fast. Most folks, West of the Cascade divide prefer the alder and the maple. Even though I no longer cut and sell wood, I find your video's very informative as a consumer, rather than a producer. 😃
Last time we ordered a truckload of fire wood was some seven years or longer ago. Video of that is on my channel. We still have some of that, but to be fair, we also burn lots of other wood in our four furnaces.
As I have said before, I get almost exclusively red oak here because it's plentiful and since I only supply myself (and my wood cutting habit), I can be picky. That said, when I do end up with something else, it always burns when I put it in the stove. As you often say, it's all wood and it all burns.
Ha! Almost! Tomorrow the final edit of the Eastonmade 22MB Firewood Processor first look will be uploaded and live for 5:30am (US central time)! So make sure to stop by tomorrow and check it out!
Interesting, bunking for 32' we get about 8 cord on a load. Truck is carrying a 10k self-loader. At 37 to 40 foot gross is 88k 20 tires or 6 axils. At 32' it's a little less At 85k ish. The sale price is commonly $900~ a load for the 8~ cord. 350 for trucking and 550 to the seller. No one anywhere in the coastal NW runs a sideways load at all, that I know of. There's a few mule trains, and quite a few straights running with pups at 105K gross.
Very interesting , we have similar prices here in NZ pine delivered for me is $60 per ton 25 metric ton truckload , makes about 2 thrown cubes per ton so $30 cost sell for $70 per cube= $350 NZD + Delivery and GST $87.50 cube $437.5 for a cord (5 cubes +/- (5.09) ) $437.5*.6= $252.5 USD equivalent a cord but I only keep $228 delivered .
I think that you will find that once you start using your 22MB you are going to be requesting larger diameter logs. The little logs take the same amount of motions to process as the large logs with a lot less firewood produced. Not sure about others but I like the 10" to 16" diameter logs. I realize that everyone has their personal preferences. Good job!
I assume the loggers have a better market for anything 10" or bigger... And any of the bigger diameter that happen to come in a firewood load, would have some major defects of some type.
Good morning Chris!!😀😀 Definitely a nice load of maple. I sure wish John would spend a little bit more time laying the pile straight. It's a little hard to grab the wood with the tractor grapple when it's crisscross like it is. Take care my friend!!😀😀 Logger Al
I pay 800 bucks a tri axle load of 25 foot pole wood and get 22 to 24 face cords cut at 16 inches per load how does that compare to what you pay I am in northwestern pennsylvania I have had 9 loads delived so far good wood cutting to you
Hey everyone!

Watching that guy unload was like starring at a fire. Just mesmerizing.

I did my job sir. Thanks for the insights.

Processor....tomorrow!
i wish i had a place to buy loads like that, thats freaking awesome.
Yup, it sure is!!
Ontario Canada right now just ordered a double load of hardwood 2700 dollars
How many cords?
@@InTheWoodyard
That would be 14 bush cord

He has been loading and unloading every day for 40 years, so, yup!
Thanks Chris
Thanks you for watching!
What a beautiful sight!
I think so too!
very good show , like the detail
Thanks Tom!

good that John is close and takes good care of you. I still have to find, cut, and haul to my wood yard to split and stack. But also I do not have the population base you do. I burn a lot of the wood I get and like it this way....Looking forward to more of your videos. Tom
oh and still raining here....LOL GNI
Time to do an anti rain dance!
Delivery man is a master operator. Looks like more than 12 cords of firewood tho...big ol piles
Yup, he has been doing this for 40 years and that is about15 full cords.
That's a great price! I would love a load of that!

i love soft maple , burns really nice. and nothing better than free wood.

That’s all skill there and years of it

looks like fairly clean logs too. Dandy.

I realize that everyone has their personal preferences. Good job!
10-16in logs are also my favorite.
I assume the loggers have a better market for anything 10" or bigger...
And any of the bigger diameter that happen to come in a firewood load, would have some major defects of some type.
You are correct !Firewood is usually the junk!
Yup, bigger is better! Up to 20"
@@InTheWoodyard Junk is a little harsh...Let's go with undesirable for lumber and perfect for firewood!👍
Good morning Chris!!😀😀
Definitely a nice load of maple. I sure wish John would spend a little bit more time laying the pile straight.
It's a little hard to grab the wood with the tractor grapple when it's crisscross like it is.
Take care my friend!!😀😀
Logger Al
Ya, but I am going to cut it all up anyway! Ha! I am running the processor tomorrow if you want to come over and play!
Perfect wood
I ordered 40 pulp cords in December and still don’t have it. Hard to get firewood loads that’s reasonable. There getting 120+ a cord.
It looks good to me also!
I could get as much wood as I want everyday here, lots of loggers, lots of woods and paper mills to supply here.
Good things happening in the Woodyard
For sure!
I pay 800 bucks a tri axle load of 25 foot pole wood and get 22 to 24 face cords cut at 16 inches per load how does that compare to what you pay I am in northwestern pennsylvania I have had 9 loads delived so far good wood cutting to you
That is pretty cheap! I pay $1400 -1500 a truckload, $105 a pulp/log cord 14ish cords and end up with about 35 face cords.
It ( WOOD ) be interesting if you can keep and work up that firewood separate
That wood has been sold and burned already!!!
Hello! Been watching many of you older videos😊 What’s the back story with your 2 wood yard locations?
I moved for business decisions, more space, great help, better conditions, bad neighbor.
