I Bought My First BMW 2002! | A Decade Old Restoration Left Unfinished....Until Now

- The number 1 most requested BMW for me to purchase for the channel has undoubtedly been a 2002, however these are very hard to find nice examples and the prices don't help. Well then I stumbled upon this beauty, a clean Verona Red 1974 car which has had the M10 fully rebuilt the paint resrayed and houses a beautiful interior. One kicker, the project has been left incomplete so now I have to pull what little 2002 Knowledge I have in order to get this thing running !!

Dude, that's an awesome find! You should bring some of your rides down to NC to the Vintage. It's held in Hot Springs, a resort that has a nice open field where we've had almost 700 vehicles at one point! The 2002's are always represented 👍🏽

It has arrived, the most requested BMW of all (I requested it too), the 2002. I have always been in love with those little cars. I guess because I was born in 1970 and since I was a kid I wanted one or because I think that the car is just awesome. One day I will get one. I'm looking to by one here in Puerto Rico but they're not even close to the shape that that one is in. Awesome find Josh!!! Soon I will learn more about one of my dream cars and that's exciting. The big question is, stock or modified? Either way is awesome. Thank you Josh for finding this great specimen of a 2002. Can't wait to see the series.

This car is beautiful Josh! I remember my neighbors had one. They saved their old BMW 2002 in their barn when they bought a newer model. As children we played in it. It was orange with black interior. Parked to close to a wall in a moist barn unfortunately. So had a lot of rust. Loved that car. Wonder what happened with it. Nice to see one again.

@@m3nameisjosh464 if we only knew then what we know now. These cars were just old cars at the time, but in fact they were future classics. But now there’s people like you and me who keep them on te road and appreciate that good old engineering. Got lots of sympathy for you. A young man who values old cars. Your enthusiasm for older BMW’s seems to be the biggest. ❤️

Great to see you're going all vintage on us! I hope one day we will see you with a BMW 327/8 in your garage. My favourite car ever. Truly a classic but those things are almost nonexistent and literally worth a fortune if you can find one. There are some fantastic videos of them on YT by Cargold Collection.

Fasten Seat belt light is the missing that’s what goes on the dash. I’ve owned around 15 of them. Best thing you can go is get A pointless distributor. She’s mint congrats.

Looks like a good base but obviously it's had a rather cheap respray since there is overspray pretty much everywhere..
Are you gonna clean up those parts as well?
$7,000 respray but yeah i noticed a lot of respray lol. Ill try to clean up what I can

When the 1600 and later the 2002 it was a real game changer compared to the smaller cars on the road at the time It was the first sports sedan and so reliable and out handle most cars

I bought my first BMW in 1973 and it was the ti model Then had a tii and many others over the years ie E30 M3, E28 M5 E36 M3 E34 M5

Work and learn. I had that very 2002, a friend of mine had some 15" Alpina's on it... I miss it. Had a pull back rag top. It made the body flex a lot more, but it was cool. Had 40mm side drafts on it. It would scoot. Then I had to get a 5 series and let it go with regrets! Keep up the work... Hey, when are you posting the e28 vid
