  • Purchased a Logia 7-in-1 Weather Station from Amazon. I open the box, show what is inside, how to put it together and set up the weather sensor, indoor sensor, and monitor. You can also add up to 7 different sensors to the one monitor. I will review how it holds up after 6 months.

    I bought this same unit a year ago and live on the banks of an active river where we routinely get weather that brings gusting winds between 50-60mph for several months in the Fall/Winter months and temperatures below freezing. In the summer we average temps in the 80s with spikes as high as 90-100 on occasion. Our annual rainfall averages at 34-38". This unit has tracked remarkably close to the local weather stations for all metrics - wind speed/temperatures/rainfall. For the price I am pleasantly surprised at how well it works. Only complaint is the lower information i.e. clock, sunrise/sunset, etc. seem to not want to report accurately no matter how I reset them, but they are of little concern to me. The other features are what I bought this for. That's my two cents! 😊Enjoy!

      Thank you for the feedback, I too feel like it has been accurate, I am a couple miles away and at a lower elevation compared to our local weather station and have found that we are a couple degrees cooler in the winter and a couple degrees warmer in the summer comparatively, beyond that everything else reads pretty much the same.

    Watched your video and read you updates in comments. You convinced me. We just order ours. We live on a bluff with massive winds and I'm hoping this unit will serve our needs. Thanks for the great video and your opinion. We will be using it as reference on our install

    Watched the entire video and you didn't bother to completely set up the station. You covered all the easy parts but didn't bother with the WIFI set up which is the reason I'm looking for some help.

      Set up for me was easy and just pressing the reset button on the bottom of the station, beyond that I had no issues. If I did have issues I would have put it in the video.

      My app doesn't do anything when I try to connect. No idea how to troubleshoot. I've done the exact steps provided multiple times. Wish there was some tech support because it's useless without being able to connect to the app

    I just received mine Sunday. Setup was no problem, connected to my WiFi with no issues. Not sure what others are seeing with WiFi set up. Perhaps mine WS has a new firmware version. (NOTE: I have seen other ioT type devices that would not connect to WiFi if one uses the same WiFi SSID, as I do, for both 2.4 and 5 Ghz bands. To resolve this, I shut off 5 Ghz to get device to initially connect, then turn my 5 Ghz back on and device is happy still.) I was able to connect the unit to both Weather Underground and Weather Cloud with no issues. Everything connected when I powered up all devices. The initial setup to connect to the device is pretty typical (put console in AP mode, connect your PC or Mobile device to that WiFi SSID. However, to have to continuously go through this process AFTER initial set up and suboptimal IMSO. Once it is on the network, why not allow direct connectivity. I assume they did this to save a few $ and probably security. I am debating where I will be mounting this, either on very top of my home as I have a roof mount pole that was installed two years ago for a new Internet service provider, but they never finished the installation OR I will install on a wall in back yard. So far, I am good with the setup display and range of the sensors back to the console.

    • @flackfruit
      @flackfruit  Před rokem

      Yes, I am actually impressed with the range from the sensor to the display unit. Sometimes I get an error on the display unit but it usually finds its self again. If you have an unobstructed location you can put it instead of the roof I think you will get a better more accurate reading. I have read the sensor can be 400 ft away and still send info to the display unit. Mine is about 200 and behind a building and still sends a good signal.

      @@flackfruit @Flackfruit (and for others that read this) I decided to install on my old DirecTV sat dish mount as I recently, after 21 years, moved to the DTV streaming service. I purchased a 5 ft antenna mount pole (big box store locally) and a couple of C clamps specifically for this application (from a very large online retailer one can guess who that is). So my unit is not on the very top of my roof, but it is a couple of feet above roof ledge line now. I decided to go this way due to anticipated HOA issues with mounting a weather station on top of roof vs. Internet service via CBRS radios would be approved. The temps and wind measurements have been good, earned my station a Weather Underground Gold Star so far.... Range and connectivity is not been a problem from the station mount to the display console, which is about 100 ft but through the roof materials/walls to the far side of the inside of house (furthest away possible location). So, overall - pretty happy. Also, I did try out the tech support line. Called during posted hours, automated response to get into queue, and my call was picked up in less than a minute. I was calling to ask about the firmware update advertised in the manual and in the Advanced UI screen of the display console. There is no "download" for any firmware on their website. The response I got was "questionable" as the rep told me, after a minute of what appeared to be research, that their is not firmware update available. Small nit pick here, why not just publish a firmware note on their web page on what is the latest version. Overall, happy and good with this unit thus far.

    I have had my unit for over 8 months now. Working flawlessly. I constantly refer to the Weather Underground for a daily graph and readout of the overnight lows and current high originating from my station. Unless you are technically adept, set-up for Wi-Fi can be a challenge but for others, it should come together with relative ease. I highly recommend this unit.
    After one year and 3 months running, I was disconnected from the Weather Underground. It took me 4 days to rectify the problem. (After ordering a new WX station!) On that 4th day, I discovered that the Logia owner's manual setup states to enter the "Router Name" "and " Router Password". After doing this some 50 times over, I discovered that these were NOT the parameters to use. I have a home network and I needed to use my Network Name and Network Password instead. Then it connected right away! So after a year's use plus, this unit is still motoring along. Very happy with it and would still recommend it to any interested weather buff.

    I want to know which one is more accurate when it comes to predicting the weather, that is, cloudiness, sunshine, rain, the ambient weather ws_2092a or the 7-in-1 lodge?

      I am not sure which one is more accurate, without purchasing both I wouldn't be able to tell. But the 7-1 is pretty accurate and it is different from the local weather info found on Google.

      I have been able to get it to connect, every once in a while it will disconnect and I move the monitor a foot and it will reconnect, but I have a building between the sensor and display unit. I tried to get the DLT to work and it doesn't change for me in the software, but I use my other clocks instead of the Logia. It is not prefect but it has been working for the most part for me. I would try to reset it at the station and monitor to see if you can get a good connection. Or move the monitor closer to your unit and see if it will connect, if not then it might be defective.

    • @flackfruit
      @flackfruit  Před rokem

      Make sure you have a clear line to the station and receiver. Press the reset button on the bottom of the station, replace the batteries. Beyond that you would have to look in the instruction manual to fix anything deeper.

    • @flackfruit
      @flackfruit  Před rokem

      If you have any concrete walls between your router and station it will have a hard time connecting. My router is closer to the window and in line of sight with the station so I have a good signal. I would also use a computer to set it up with the IP address, don't use your phone, I have heard that phones make it hard, even though they are convenient. Beyond that, what have you tried?

      I didn't have issues with it. I pressed the reset button on the bottom of the station and it connected with the monitor just fine. Or are you referring to setting up over the network so you can submit the info to an online system?

    • @jordan7091
      @jordan7091 Před rokem

      Connecting the station to the display is different than wifi setup. The wifi setup is in the app which is what I'm having issue with too. Any luck Todd? When in the app, I select that I connected to the display network and nothing happens and when I go back to the initial page of the app, then it's like I didn't add the device
