Sorry to hear about the loss of you colony. Here in central Virginia, we got up to 83° on the 23rd.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure it was too much moisture that got them. Lots of mold on the frames. I hope you were able to enjoy the one day of 83 degree weather.

    You have 80🥵 and I have 20🥶 wow.😅Blessed Days,Thomas.
To much moisture internally, I've seen that repeatedly this Winter here. For me they were to small to maintain their internal climate with how wet we are here.

Ya, that's what I was thinking. All that mold was telling. So, 80 yesterday and chance for snow tomorrow. We've had a crazy roller coaster winter.

Steam punk wedding? Fantastic! At least the other clear starve out showed low mites. Good news. Formic, we love it. But only in 1 pad at a time over a 20 day period. Last Fall we actually ran 3 pads over 30 days. Weak hives don't regulate the inner hive humidity very well. Suggestion. Put the pollen sub directly on the frames over the brood. Not on top the inner cover. They extra feed too. They take both down quite a bit faster. Maybe some thin syrup open feeding?
Happy keeping Thomas. If those are the only 2 dead outs, congratulations!

The wedding was in late Oct so we did a costume wedding. My wife and I dressed steampunk. It was a blast.
