Are there walkable neighborhoods in the area? Looking to rent for a year to explore areas before buying, but really want to be able to walk to eateries, shops, etc. Also would consider north Augusta I'd such a neighborhood exists. Thank you.
If you live closer to the downtown Aiken area you would be able to reasonably walk to the different eateries and shops and same also in North Augusta but closer to the city limits you would not be in what I consider walking distance of the eateries and shops.
Aiken looks like a great town and your video is very informational but I am leary of the high crime statistics in Aiken. Just last week a young girl was shot at a local Walmart shopping with her mom.
I was noticing that too for some time. I want to retire in Aiken but crime is rising there for such a small town.
Unfortunately it's happening everywhere not just Aiken.

I lived in the Aiken area most of my life. I’m 43 it’s really not that bad. They do have crime in certain parts of town but other than that it’s not like the Wild West
