If you could pick just one, what would it be? SF90 or Plaid?
Ferrari all the way
If I had to pay for it, Plaid.
No question the Ferrari. But why have just one ? 😃😃😃
SF90. Plaid will be worth 30 thousand in 3 years, Ferrari will be worth 500 thousand. I won’t take a car that is a hair faster in a straight line with no sound and no value. Oh yea lets not forget the paint quality and the fact Tesla don’t even know how to put panels on a car
Sf90 nothing can beat sound and feeling enjoy gears...
So, in summary, with a better start the Tesla can’t be caught, but with a worse start, it still manages to catch up to the Ferrari and beat it …nuts
Sounds very similar to what the 720s used to do 😉
@@Pieces93 I think 720S can beat sf90 from roll
I know it's hard to believe but 720S is still a very fast car
@@Smzxe not hard to believe at all, the 720s was the benchmark super car for the quarter mile for a number of years, it is only since the electric cars and new hybrids have come and taken the crown, but to be fair the 765LT is still probably the fastest super car to do the quarter mile as the Nevera is in the hypercar price bracket and the SF90 isn’t as quick as the 765LT.
@@Pieces93 765LT is fast but
P1 still remains the fastest McLaren yet
In brooks dragtimes videos of roll racing a P1 and 765LT
We saw that P1 was pulling in 3rd 4th gear then he tagged rev limiter on P1 and 765LT came back but P1 was pulling in third and fourth gear
P1 was in race mod with wing up
They said they will try rematch in DRS Mode in the P1 that never happened
I would say that P1 still faster and quicker than 765LT those electric motors really help
Maybe with DRS Mode and Proper gear shifts on the P1 can beat 765LT in roll drag anything because the P1 was pulling in the beginning of the roll then he tagged rev limiter on P1 many times 765LT can't gain on P1 like that if it was a proper race
Basically.......yes...
Next time on DragTimes: Tesla Plaid vs wheelchair. Spoiler: Tesla redlights, wheelchair wins.
😂😂😂😂
Combustion only in a Museum !!
🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yes that was the funniest part of entire video the process of making it seem the Ferrari actually won 2 races by driving not by penalty. Makes one wonder did Ferrari ask Dragtimes not to embarrass them 🤔🤔🤔
Lets be honest, that's a fair 5-0 for Tesla
and ultra-wealthy playboys remain pissed!! Thanks Elon.
Wasnt it goverment who was pushing el cars that they ve affordable for all? I dont think that 130k for el car that can drive 400km on one charge is cheap. Its like buying 911 turbo s. So i stick to gas cars not electric toys. Put them both on track and then compare results. Neither you can use all that power driving around in city, real performance is seen only on track and there this plaid is losing by a mile, because it cant corner, break fast enough
@@Leoneidas tax the fuck outta them

@@padlasvillage Face Facts: most of us are forever condemned to "pre-owned vehicles ... which means gas. We pay our road taxes when we fill up. EV owners are skating on their road taxes but that will change with per mile charges.
Let’s be honest. It was a 5-0 to Tesla. If even the “fastest” Ferrari has to depend on the weather etc. etc. just to catch up, let alone beat a 4 seater Tesla.... 😂🤣
5 seater.
@@dialy1 4 for practical reasons
I don't see what even funny. The Ferrari would still smoke it on braking, cornering, slalom and skidpad! Its a track car....Tesla is only good for straight line which gets boring pretty fast. Even if they were the same price I would still take the Ferrari.

I would score it Plaid 5, SF90 0, Jimmy -2. You need to switch cars next time. Jimmy is giving the other car an advantage with his jumpy foot. At least after the first two races he realized he didn’t have to cut the light to get the win.
This is about comparing cars, not drivers. So ofcourse the Plaid wins every race.
Yeah this is a 5-0 to the Plaid. Not surprising. Love the Plaid.
@Eric Prydes The SF90 had it's ass handed to it, it had no chance. Seethe
Clearly 5-0 tesla. jimmy’s in ability to control himself at launch should not penalize tesla.
Exactly, it’s 5-0 Plaid. Next contender.

@@jgb998 It's actually interesting when you think about it. As electric cars make performance more equal, it's really going to fall back on the driver to win races (in this case, through reaction times). Driver skill isn't going anywhere.

Nice to see a car that can hang with the Tesla Model S Plaid. It’s more impressive to always keep in mind that the Model S seats 5 people, has lots of storage space, and is a fraction of the cost of other super cars and hyper cars. There’s so much to like about the Tesla.
Costs? The Plaid has racetrack times on the Nürnburgring which are totally boring. Dragrace is a dragrace, even with a 7 seater possible… but not on a real racetrack.
no everything you listed there is basically whats to like about a tesla.
@@mmrazovic yeah...but it's a heavy four door sedan. Think about what a proper electric hypercars like the nevera or upcoming roadster could do on the ring.
The “it seats 5” is a false equivalency. You can’t seat 5 and get the same times. Only when the car has no passengers will it achieve those numbers.
@@amgwest4300 no, but the times are going to be similar, 5 pax most likely won't take much off it's quarter mile time, model X is a 9.7 sec car, with 7 pax it's about .7 sec slower at 10.1-10.4, 5 pax in plaid will make
Even though the SF90 shifts extremely quickly you can see the SF90 lose a little bit of its lead with every shift.
it's losing in gear as well, it's simply slower everywhere
The revs drop from redline at each gearshift which means the SF90 is running on less than peak power most of the time. The Tesla makes 1000 HP the whole time.
@@srinitaaigaura no no, after a while due to higher speed, electric motor will be useless so only the petrol engine will continue to push the car, that's why ferrari is losing. Now compare 1000hp tesla and 800hp ferrari.

Can't wait to buy one. One careful owner, been fragged a few times.
U cant look at it like that. U still have to give the engine a win. For a combustion engine to do all that. That is mind boggling. But to answer your statement. Whenever ferrari and all the other super car companies decide to abandon the engine and go all electric
Tesla is not going to be special
Thats because its a car that goes fast around tracks and not drag oriented cars. Tesla focuses a lot on 0-60 sprints, while other car man's don't really focus on all of that. Ferrari/Mclaren/Porsche still have to compete against each other and go fast around corners, unlike Tesla.
@अनिश् They are a software company yet far behind on Porsche & Ferrari etc on the real tracks. By the time they come out with their real track car all other manufacturers have already caught up with Tesla. Being fast from 0-60 won’t cut it all the time.. Just having software won’t bake it for you, coming from someone who owns a software company.
@@VuBeClan thank you. You said it better than me. I mean look at the porshe taycan or the mercedes eqs. They may not have the range like tesla. Most people are gonna start looking at interior and exterior designs when the competition turns up.
My word! That Ferrari launches beautifully. Fantastic video, Sir.
For me this was a 5:0 for Plaid !!!
Plaid still is pulling on the SF90 after 148mph.. wow
That's Plaid for ya :)
Yeah, but there will be a point where the aero of the SF90 and the gearing take over at very high speeds, but we're talking about 1/2 mile and 1 mile distance races. The SF90 would definitely have the advantage in those longer races with a higher top speed.
I wouldn't be so sure that the SF90 has better aero than the Plaid. It probably does make more downforce, but the Tesla is heavier, so.... SF90 definitely wins the top speed battle though. Maybe Brooks can find a half mile track once Tesla uncorks the 200 mph limit. That race would be damn close I think.
@@BLACK05GO1 very much doubt aero would be any cause. The tesla is like 1st or 2nd most slippery car with a low Cd. Ferrari definitely won't be, you can have downforce without drag. So if anything the Ferrari will hit a brick wall until the plaid hits it's top speed (when it's not limited)
@@78katz Correct cd (drag coefficient) vs downforce are two different things. Plaid has a significantly lower cd (part of the reason it has better range then other EVs) while SF90 has significantly more downforce (useful for higher corner speeds and shorter braking distance). As downforce is increasing on the SF90 as speed rises its unlikely that it would catch up with Plaid in 1\2 or getting to 200 mph. However if we look at 0-100-0 times SF90 is significantly quicker. Ferrari probably didn't spend millions chasing a lower cd number and Tesla didn't prioritize downforce over cd.

This feature already exists and some cars have it installed. But imagine if this was put into the plaid? It might take away the fun of driving though.
Why is it so easy to Redlight? I'm no drag racer, but I've got foot-tapping rhythm down pat from six years of participating in a marching band - And One And Two And Three And Go!!...You should be able to time your accelerator push to less than a quarter second, maybe an eighth. Is the light Tree not staged in discrete units? Is it set on some random schedule, to try to make Redlights happen - in other words to avoid drivers timing the green lights, as they should be able to do very well?
@@ammoalamo6485 If you look closely they actually lift off the brake before the light turns green. When specifically to lift off, I have no idea. But it's not as simple as lifting when the light turns green.
@@ammoalamo6485 It is a bit more complex than that. Speaking as a 58 year old racer with many many trips down the 1/4 mile, if you were to wait until the light from the green bulb to reach your eye, then for your brain to recognize it, then for your brain to tell your foot to mash down the pedal, then for your vehicle to react to the accelerator pedal, you would be WAY late. So you have to actually anticipate the light changing and hit the pedal even before the green light is lit. So while the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd yellow lights are sequential and timed exactly, you can't really use that as a cadence for the launch.
That Plaid costs 6 times less than the Ferrari and dusts it. It's faster 0-60, 0-100, 0-200, 1/4 mile. And the thing is, it just keeps pulling away until it hits factory cap of 200 mph.
You can have the plaid as a family car in the week, and a hyper-car destroyer in the weekends. Just insane!
What is insane is: the fact that Tesla just decided to make the car fast, just to one up the ICE car. It was literally just a “should we prove that EV motors are better? Yeah let’s do it and let’s do it in a family SEDAN”. When they decide to pull the same trick in an actual sports car chassis, I think they’re going to blow everything out of the water.

@@ihuntredi as if you're gonna buy that ferrari with that amount of money, Resale value only counts if you use it on occasion only, most owners of these cars bought this and put it on display. More mileage means less price.
@@RyanSantos-cn5ij the ferrari still sells way over retail kiddo
The craziest part to me is that the Plaid was still pulling on the Ferrari in the top of 4th
Plaid will pull till its top speed
What is actually interesting is that the Plaid gets all of its advantage by the 1/8th mile and then starts losing very slightly on the top end, likely due to drag effects. You can see at the 1/8th mile the speed has a larger delta than at the quarter mile. It is deceiving because the momentum from the 1/8th mile still carries until the 1/4 mile, but it is an illusion that it is faster from 1/8th to 1/4, just a beast off the line and to the 1/8th (still extremely fast from that point but I think a lot of people missed this).
Amazing electric
@@razor_ramon_ it’s currently limited to 164 so it’ll just keep hauling ass then suddenly stop accelerating.
@@theadventureinsider I agree. Can't wait for new, more sustainable tyres
Proud Tesla owner here. Muscle cars don't even try me. Hahaha! That torque is something else.
The SF90 is just such a tiny car compared to the Plaid - makes the Plaid even more impressive, imho.
Family sedan walking away from Ferrari's current halo car got Enzo rolling in his grave so hard you could hook him up to a stator and charge the Tesla 😅
Do you take pleasure in disrespecting a dead man's legacy? Yes the Ferrari lost by 0.2s, it's the second fastest, big deal. It's still an exceptional sport car, on a straight line and on a track (check fastestlaps to see just how brilliant its laptimes are, at Mortefountain it even bested the Senna). Sportcars are not just about going fast on a straight line. Yes, electric motors make cars faster on a straight line and Elon created an incredibly fast sedan for a reasonable price, but this has nothing to do with the legacy of Ferrari, which will always be a legendary brand.
@@icydelight3693 Tesla fans and EV nutheads wont understand this. All they have going for them is 0-100 and 1/4 times as if that's enough to convince everyone who knows their cars that EVs are superior to ICE. And even if EVs can smoke an ICE in a straight at least within a 1/4 mile (beyond that a fast enough ICE definitely has the chance), it still wont capture the same level of attention, drama, enjoyment and affection that a fast car with a glorious ICE engine can give. If anyone needs to see an example of this, go watch Throttle House's recent review of the LFA. It's an emotional masterpiece of an experience.
@@icydelight3693 earlier EVs were called slow and boring. Now since EVs are no longer slow in a straight line. Its just a matter of time EVs start to dominate in all other aspects except sound
@@navneet4938 yeah EVs are better in every single aspects if you look at the numbers but imho fuck the numbers i want some noise and drama that comes with ICE

Absolutely insane watching a 4,800 lb sedan walk down a 1,000 HP Ferrari. Truly remarkable.
It's crazy man
That “sedan” has 1020 HP. The Ferrari had 986 and weighs about 4000 pounds (guarantee it’s heavier than claimed). It also has a transmission, which means it’s only at 986 HP at optimal RPM.
@@mikemoggerson6651 Still has better power to weight ratio than the plaid.
Only problem is aerodynamics and complex gearings.
@@neeljavia2965 yes but the power to weight ratio only considers optimum power. Also, you do realize the aero of the Ferrari is for ALOT more than straight line speed right? I’m not sure if that’s what you were implying, but Tesla is obviously not built to handle as sharply as the Ferrari, which would have much more downforce (lowering straight line speed)
@@neeljavia2965 Right. But it is also worth paying tribute to the Tesla engineers who created the Plaid engines with a flat horsepower graph.
