- I'm here to show you the best way to save money by making quality soy milk at home.
In this video I review the Almond Cow and the Mio Soymilk Maker- then compare it to soymilk made in a blender.
To test the richness of the three milks, I fermented each batch into labneh. Labneh is a strained yogurt cheese made from the milk solids. This is a great way to measure the richness of each milk!
I go over the pros and cons of each method and device- at the end of the video I give you my overall recommendation!

Thanks for the great review! I was debating whether to buy the milk maker, but the blender method will work just great for what I want. Again, thank you so much, Jess!
Thanks! I already have Vitamix and instant pot - looks like I’m all set!
Thanks for this video, I really enjoyed it! I have 2 soymilk makers that are collecting dust for at least 20 years.
Hi! What settings (time and temperature) do you use on the Instant Pot for the blender recipe?
Have you tried to "boil" the milk in the vitamix? What temperature does the milk have to reach? Thanks.
It needs to get to 212°F (100°C)
How do you ferment potatoes and use the leftover brine?
Here’s my recipe how to do it! wildveganflower.com/fermented-potatoes/
I typically reuse the leftover brine for the liquid portion of vegetable broth! I make homemade vegetable broth from my veggie scraps and use my brines or aquafabas for the liquid portion
@@jess.flowers thank you ❤️
Isn't it hard to clean the instant pot after boiling the soymilk in the insert?
I found it you cook it on slow cook it doesn’t stick to the bottom. That’s my main reason for not cooking it on the stove- it always burns or sticks to the bottom on me!
