  • Video: An afternoon of spotting at Gillingham (Kent) station on the Chatham main line, the action mostly consists of Southeastern services as this was filmed before the take over/integration of Thameslink services from Luton to Rainham (Kent). Many Networkers were seen terminating on platform 1 operating the now defunct Gillingham to London Charing Cross (via the North Kent Line) service, as well as the British Belmond Pullman Charter train seen being hauled through by two Class 67s.
    TRAINS INCLUDED:
    Southeastern Class 375 & 377 Electrostars & Class 395 Javelins & Class 465 & 466 Networkers and DB Class 67s with the Belmond Pullman Charter train.

    Great video there! Since when has the Gillingham to Charing Cross service been defunct? I traveled on it regularly last year before I moved away.

      Thanks, ever since the 20th May Thameslink have started a new long service from Luton to Rainham which goes via the North Kent Line thus replacing the need for the Gillingham to Charing Cross service. Instead now you have to take a 700 from there up to either Gravesend, Dartford or London Bridge and change for a Charing Cross train.

    Great video.
    Why the class 4650xx and 4651xx have the noise different from 4659xx? (the first ones made the nearly same noise than the class 395, which the last one do a completely different and unique noise).
    Greetings from France :)

      Trainsdu49 465/0s were made by BREL, 465/1 465/3 were made by ABB Rail and all have the same traction motor made Hitachi. 465/2 and 465/9 were made by Metro Cammell.

    • @haydonsheard2168

      Supreme Leader they were never originally made with hitachi motors it was as part of refurbishment project which meant the bogies had to be reengineered to accomodate

    • @bb-3653
      @bb-3653 Před 3 lety

      A company named BREL and ABB manufactured the 465/0 and 1s whilst the companies who manufactured the 465/9s and 2s and 466 are alstom and metrocamel . The BREL /ABB 465s had their thyristors changed by Hitachi but the motor remains the same.

      @@haydonsheard2168 yeah they were essentially modified with Hitachi tech, alot of people get confused but tbh its understandable

      Unfortunately not, its been a while since I've done spots with 395s in it at present. Hopefully I'll see the Trainbow and the Victory Javelin liveries on my next spot with them.
