Can we substitute a tremendous bench in lew of a 200 mil guard!!!!! There are quite a few very good players that can make our team great off the bench!!!!!! These are bigs, 3 point shooters, and ball handlers.

I dead forgot about Robert Covington. However, the LAL are in dire need of a couple, maybe even a few more 3&D players. I think they should resign KCP, seeing that he's proven to be a key contributing piece to a championship team, seeing that he's won 2 the past 4 years, with 2 different teams, as well as being a High IQ defensive-minded veteran guard that can influence other players like Reaves, Reddish and Taurean to be more aggressive and consistent on the defensive end. I also think they should sign Covington and Kelly Oubre Jr because now you'll have 2 very tall, reliable 3pt scorers that have very noticeable defensive versatility, high IQ level defenders that each bring a nice combo of speed, scoring, height and length that can help alter high offense players, especially at the perimeter. KCP+RC+KOJ+JV+CR+GB= a very intimidating defensive perimeter presence that the Lakers can utilize correctly to Lockup most of the NBA's best scorers. I even think they'll definitely be a Top 10 defensive team, maybe even a Top 15-20 3pt rated team, and a Top 10 offense. They should also try to pursue Kj Martin and Andre Drummond
They already have Vando and Rui covered at the 3 spot. They need a better 1 & 2, and a better 5.
Vando is strictly a defensive 3 and Rui can somewhat play D but no specialist. And to get a better 1 and 2, that means Rui and most likely Reaves will be traded so it's gonna be a long summer for the front office.

Agreed…. Our positions of need are at the guard and at the center position. We need a guard who can play Defense and create his own shot…. Lastly he should have the ability to penetrate the defense and get floaters/layups

They are 2 Way players but Darwin couldn't utilize them only his favorite which is Prince but he didn't give Max christie a chance or didn't give either of his rookies like JHS, Maxwell Lewis, D'moi hodge, Alex fudge opportunity when vando and gade and wood was was on injured perfect Chance don't let it be any other teams which is what they did so the Lakers don't need to trade anyone else Jason Hayes

He’s right.. They literally won a title with guys you didn’t know until they won and are contributing in other places now. The teams who are moving forward separated themselves from the Lakers by having guys like @JSM is talking about. And ironically a team like OKC didn’t advance because they were missing glue pieces..

with the track record the Lakers have with injury prone players getting injured on their team i think they should invest in a new medical staff before thinking about these 33 year old vets

This is the problem with this new analytical style of studying basketball and its so wrong. They don't need no dam " 3 & D" players they need ACTUALL offensive creators. Standing behind the 3 point line waiting for lebron to drive and kick it out to you in hopes of an open 3 is not gonna win championships or even take you far in the playoffs. The lakers offense most times looked super FLAT no movement, no plays being ran just men standing around watching what Lebron or AD is gonna do. Great consistent content from you but you a lot of times judge the game by stat reading and watching percentages to say someone must "at least have shot 35% from the 3pt line on their career or past season" is looking at a player so one dimensional. Come the playoffs you need people that can give you a spark and help get the offense flowing through other options while taking attention off the stars since defense intensity is at an all time high during that time of the season. Trying to build role players into this robotic "3&d" format limits the game and undervalues so many great players who play the game differently and any given moment during the post season give life to your offense when your star players are getting double teamed the minute they touch the ball. This "3&d" motto is such boring basketball and its dying slowly as we can see what teams actually made noise this post season.
