This shows a little bit of what LBJ really was, his personality, his hand gestures, his grasp of data and the power to convice if you were in front of him

Johnson still in charge, not crushed. That came in 1968

I remember 1968. I was waiting to be drafted at that time. The current President should review this video to learn how to act during a press conference!

What a different world, and what a more civilized world, it was fifty-two years ago than now! That, despite all the acrimony between Johnson, the press and the public. Compare the atmosphere of this exchange with the childish petulance of Trump. I can’t help but notice how much the presidency had aged Johnson. On 22 November 1963, when LBJ was thrust into the Presidency at the age of 55, there were some comments that he had aged a bit since vacating the post of Senate Majority Leader a few short years before. That was nothing compared to how the Presidency shaped him. Another thing is that we had a more responsible press in 1967 than now. Johnson was really, really wrong about the Thieu-Ky regime. Thief was a very short-sighted and narcissistic man, out for himself; Ky is the man who once said, “I have only one hero, and that’s Hitler”. And he was getting very inept and illusory counsel from Ellsworth Bunker and Wm Westmoreland.

Communist aggression? What about socialist aggression at home?

Wow. This guy is like Trump. Same stridence, except Trump is less preachy and a better listener. Both corrupt, cept trump not a murderer.
