  • An overview of the composition and layers of the Earth's atmosphere, including a discussion of the exosphere, thermosphere, mesosphere, stratosphere, and troposphere. I also discuss the ozone layer and ozone depletion, the Karman line which marks the boundary of space, and the ionosphere.

Sadly, Rev fails, yet again, to post a link in the video description for the scoring doc link.

21:10 I rarely if ever see a presentation about the earth's atmosphere that does not grossly misrepresent one of it's most important features, that compared to the dimensions of the earth the atmosphere is really, really thin.
Not that these graphic models are useless, they are necessary. However, I would love to see a presentation that might show the true dimensions of what we are dealing with. I speculate that atmospheric comparative thinness might have an effect on it's patterns of circulation. I am not scientist enough to explain why I think that might be the case.
    Coriolis?

When and where was the last time you saw a representation of the atmosphere that was to your liking? How "thin" do you think several tens of kilometres are? I have only heard the term "thin" utilised is when an astronaut is being poetic.
At the timestamp provided the graphic is using Mt. Everest as a scale for 10km. every graduation is at 10km after that. What makes you think it is not accurate? If you want "true" (whatever that means) dimensions you should go up in a balloon (David Attenborough has done it) so you can experience your "true" dimensional scale of 1:1. The only thing missing from the graph is the height of Concorde.
Of course the Coriolis effect is caused by the rotation of Earth not how relatively thin the gasses above the surface are. Look to Jupiter and Saturn for examples because they are almost entirely gas except for the cores.

Video is boring as there is no continuous video. Just a lot of talking with no diagrams so thumbs down.
