    Appreciate the fact that Smokey keeps mentioning artists needing a hit record to catapult them to stardom.
    Still the same today, which is why a lot of folks who think going viral is the only thing until they put out an album with no hits that goes wood.

    J5 did a superb job on "Who's Loving You", especially my man MJ. But I gotta show some love to the criminally underrated Terence Trent D'arby (now known as Sananda Maitreya), who did a great cover on his 1st album.

    Michael Jackson's singing voice sounded better as a boy than it did when he was a grown man. A phenomenal, once in a lifetime artist.

      @poeticsounds Před rokem +7

      He changed his singing voice to keep that high register/ pitch like he did his regular speaking voice . He wanted to be more pop n crossover. But you’re right as a kid he’s singing more soul / rnb with runs n riffs.

      @Jlist83 Před rokem +4

      Thats was because Mike was heavily influenced by James Brown and Jackie Wilson at that time. He just had his own version of those brothers and then he switched it up with the Pop sound.

    To me Marvin is the best singer to have ever done it but I'll give credit where is due, Michael did a fantastic job. It's all age related at the end of the day because I don't really consider Michael to be part of my time since I was born in 1954 as a guy who was a teenager then

    Beatles found his voice God like. They were a fan. Same with MJ being a fan of his and being inspired. He is so much history. Like Quincy we need to know all the history on record raw uncut! We are lucky to have him still. Needs to be done soon
