My fave is the game cube controller. Its way more confortable whem you use the claw method. Also got small hands, so I can reach every button on that one.
It's also got that gooooood ASMR sound
You guys are missing the point with the Xbox controller. 🎮 You are supposed to use rechargeable AA batteries. Do you realize how many PS5 controllers are going to end up in a landfill once their battery packs stop holding a charge in a year or two?
Exactly this! Batteries fail. Sooner or later, but eventually they all fail.

For me the joy cons would give me arthritis. I have really large hands, so my right thumb has to move in a really uncomfortable position for the joy stick. I personally prefer to play with the joy con sideways rather than with two.
the N64 controller was amazing when it was new.
Dakota: I really like how its the first controller to use our third hands that everyone has.
The best controller ever created is the 8BitDo Pro2 in my opinion, for Switch and PC. It's an evolution of the SNES controller with handles, analogs. I've bought 2 of them already
I like it too, shape is awesome and dpad is my favorite across modern controllers. though for me it keeps disconnecting and cyclically rebooting when in x-input mode. In switch mode everything's fine.
Adrian: YES!!! The 8BitDo Pro is SUCH a good controller. Best of all worlds tbh.

8bit-Do controllers are really amazing. I still have the SFC one (the one with the Super Famicom style) and stills like new after 5 years of usage, Even with many hours of fighting games. Its quality is really top notch, it's one of the top 3 controllers in many years of gaming in my opinion.
I own one., and I disagree with you.
1) The controller is too wide and vertical. When You hold a controller, your hands point inwards, not straight forward.
2) The macro buttons are too easily pressed.
3) The Start/Select buttons are rubber, which break down and and get sticky when exposed to sweat and cleaning products.
4) The joysticks tops are too slick. Not enough traction.
5) The overall controller shell is not well-textured and super slippery.
6) The input lag over Bluetooth is pretty atrocious.
7) The d-pad creates hotspots.
Overall, for $50, the Xbox X/S controller is vastly superior for the same price.
My favurite is the Dualshock 4. My small hands fit it perfectly, it's revolutionary (with a touchpad, lightbar) and it's perfectly rounded for customization
Right that’s the best contoller PlayStation never fails for the best controllers I fell in love with the joystick set up when I got my ps2 and the ps4 controller was even more amazing but the Xbox 360 controller was better than the ps3 one to me
You forgot the 360 controller, Xbox One controller, original Xbox s controller, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 (yes there’s slight differences), Wii Pro Controller, Wii U and Wii U Pro controller, and that’s only the notable first party controllers.
We can tell which console these guys play and dont/haven’t played
The six button Genesis controller is much better than the original three button. It made the Saturn controller possible. Wish that was included here.
Idk boys for me batteries are huge advantage so for me Xbox controllers are the best

I have the Switch Pro controller. It's an excellent game controller and it can Bluetooth connect to my tablet as well as the Switch.
The PS5 controller is absolutely the best on every category! The ergonomics, the appearance, the buttons placement, the buttons range, the colors diversity, the navigation and extra features, the customization, the audio input and output...PERFECTION!
PSONE controller alone, deserves an immediate higher rankin' for starters (above the "top three")

I really feel that being able to use AA batteries is a pro. Not a con.

7:28 Actually, it's on the 'right' hand. When you hold a NES controller, you use the D-Pad with your left hand - which you can still do while wearing the glove on your right hand. "What the hell is this!?" - The Power Glove came with sensors so that Up/Down/Left/Right activates the D-Pad, Thumb is A and Index is B. 'Reviewers' who don't do their research first are the worst.
Dual sense for ps5 is my personal favorite. It's so comfortable, and the adaptive triggers are really cool. Compared to the others of this generation, switch pro controller feels kinda melty. And Xbox has barely changed over the past bit of time

Gonna be honest, while I was around the age of ten back then, I don't remember having any issues with the Dreamcast controller. But then, I am biased... I had so much fun with that thing.
Also, I don't like rechargeable batteries... You still have to buy more eventually and buy an entire recharging station (I forget what they're called). Plus the worst part? You'd have to have full batteries on hand. Not good when you're in the middle of a game you cannot pause. Yes, a cord is annoying to deal with but you'll never have to charge a wired controller.
I like Playstation because you can play wirelessly and if you need to charge you can plug it in and use it while it's charging.

why everybody bash the N64 controller? if fits great in the hand, and realy no game i know uses an analog stick AND a dpad, so made to different handles for it, great.. also 6 buttons on the front, its much more comfortable then trigger and shoulderbutton on the shoulder. The Analogstick is trash, not just for todays standart.. but what i realy miss i a octaconal housing arount the analogstick in modern controllers it makes it so much easier in situations, in wich you realy need aiming straight in one cardinal direction and combines the pros of a dpad with the pros of an analogstick.. also.. how cool was the Z trigger in the N6 controller if Goldeneye was your first game on the system

I bought a gamecube controller adaper for pc so I can use my rare smash bros controller on steam games. Best decision of my life!

Hands down, Microsoft crafts something that's so comfortable, so sleek, it makes me better at games. The Xbox Series X/S controller is just so good. Switch Pro controllers for me are kinda just holding plastic.

My hands have handled so many different things over the years, and I would say the original Xbox controller is one one of the worst things my hands have ever touched and fondled in their entire career as my hands.
Wonder the average age of the people that put this list together. Kinect really? N64 if you actually played it you would know 90% of the time you used the analog and the back button. Genesis console should be higher.

OMFG...The Switch Pro uses the SAME sticks as the Joy Cons. They are just as susceptible to drift. Only difference is people don't stuff their Pro controllers into their backpacks, so it's not as widely reported.

I actually like the idea of user replacable batteries on the Xbox controllers. With controllers more expensive than ever, I want to be able to replace the battery. You can also purchase a cheap battery charge and play kit (like $15-20) and you won't have to worry about swapping out the batteries. But if you have a controller for 3 years, you CANNOT easily replace the battery.
Maybe its just the batteries we're buying - but over 3 years, how much are you spending on batteries? Unless you have a rechargeable one, then problem solved.

Tbh.... I kinda hate and love that Xbox still uses batteries. Rechargeable batteries is not an issue, but a pain constantly swap in the long run. But on the flipside, the PS controllers doesn't have that issue, until the battries dies and refuses to charge at all. And not everyone swapps them vs throwing the entire controller in the trash creating other issues.
Haven’t had to swap my ps5 batteries yet, but my ps4 controllers I did once and I was surprised how easy it was to do
Each controller has their pros and cons around charging/battery life. Sometimes batteries just get used too fast!
Had my PS4 Controller for 6 years never broke down. Battery was still good only the R2 trigger couldn't recognize the applied force anymore
@@christophbethe7871 All my PS3 contollers have had theirs changed. My day one PS4 controller only lasts about 10 min now, the other is still fine.
I don’t get the hate in AA batteries. I prefer my Xbox controller over PS5 for that 1 reason. I’ll use my ps5 for less than 5 hours and need to get closer to my ps5 to recharge. Xbox lasts like a month before a battery change
You guys are Gen Z. You don't understand the N64 controller and the FEELING we all got as kids holding that. You're meant to grip the middle analog with your left btw. There was no game that you had to use the left D-pad buttons and the analog at the same time. It worked perfectly well.

The Gamecube came out the same time as the PS2 and Xbox, and had many cross-platform games, YET the sticks couldn't be depressed (no L3/R3). And you put it in A-tier.🤦♀

Not really sure how the Xbox batteries are an issue. You can get a rechargeable battery pack with a charging slot and a cord for less than $20.
Still a pain relative to either just keeping a controller plugged in or just plugging in a cord to charge one.

I hope the Xbox never stops making controllers with replaceable batteries ... 1.. when your controller is on the edge of dying... You can quickly swap out batteries... 2.... A lithium AA battery will last almost twice as long as single charged lithium ion sealed battery.... You don't have to tether yourself to the console when it's dead . .. 3.... Sealed lithium ion batteries will degrade and eventually not hold their charge..... Never a worry with replaceable batteries...

What the heck are you on about? 🤣 I would absolutely get a controller with AA batteries. Look, batteries go bad. Controllers can get forgotten in cupboards for years sometimes. Proprietary batteries are expensive. You can absolutely buy rechargeable AA batteries, AND in a pinch you can... pinch the batteries from your remote or clock or anywhere until you can either charge your rechargeable AAs or buy new regular ones.
I absolutely hate proprietary batteries, chargers, connectors, fasteners etc. that do the SAME THING as regular stuff but cost more.
