Kevin Durant tallied 38 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists for the Suns. The Lakers improve to 1-0 in West Group A play, and 4-5 in the regular season, while the Suns fall to 0-1 in West Group A play, and 4-5 in the regular season.

Great players. LAL have to hit shots. No more complicated than that. PHX has no rim protection or true point guard. And more importantly, KD is 35 nearing 36. Most players begin to decline at this time. LBJ has been an anomaly. While I think KD, like Curry, have games that can translate as they get older, I think KDs lack of physicality is a serious limitation that people don’t consider enough. He’s never handled increased attention and pressure from opponents and because he’s so frail he gets flustered when people kick him off his spots then he forces contested long midrange jumpers and turns the ball over. I think this is a huge reason why he hasn’t been as successful as elsewhere compared to GS since teams 0 in on him as the CLEAR #1 option. Vice versa, it’s why he was so successful in GS since he got increased opportunities 1on1 without defensive pressure as it was impossible to pressure him or you’d leave Curry and Thompson alone.
KD has been a #1 option his entire career what are u talking about? He’s still performing at a top 5 level in yr 17 after a devastating achilles injuryand he’s a league MVP and 2x Finals MVP and he’s been elite ever year so I don’t get the idea that he’s not a #1 option because that’s just common sense

He had a better team in Miami. A comparable team in Cleveland to what KD had in OKC. He should have more wins than KD when KD is outside of golden state.
