The focus-stacking, true bulb-mode, new auto-focus, and upgraded body, especially the viewfinder make this an upgrade. I hope it pairs better with the FE200-600G than my current a7riv - I’ll definitely test before just taking the plunge.
I’ve seen multiple videos showing the A7rIV Having much sharper video quality than the rV i’m going to get the RIv instead

Mark Smith says it plays very well with the 200-600. That & Focus stacking makes this a strong contender for my move to mirrorless.

In reality, your client will never know the difference between any work shot on the A7RV and the A7IV for photo or video PERIOD.
Yes, The screen is amazing on the A7RV, but let's be real that should be a standard feature on EVERY sony camera. If you're a serious photographer you wouldn't be watching this video and already own the A1 and are pissed off that you don't have a dope screen that should have been on every camera 4 years ago.
For someone like me who shoots mainly video but is a passionate photographer, the A7IV is way better bang for your buck considering Im not wasting 1,500 dollars. I could take a vacation at that point... you get my point.
Sony seriously needs to do something to eliminate rolling shutter.

Im still using the A7R2 and just added the A7RIII in 2023 as the new bodies feel cheap.
How will it work for dog action photography ie high speed subjects in manual 10fps compressed raw?

When you shot the jpeg at high ISO did you change the noise reduction on jpegs? It defaults to you some noise reduction but you can turn it off. That would be closer to what the raw images would look like

I have a7iv I only want for next sony cameras it's a good screen with better resolution and brightness I think canon nikon and other manufactures make great screens .
CZcams premium promised me ad-free videos.

Hey Benjamin.. thanks for making such a useful video.. could you please let me know what L plate are you using here. I have the sony a7iv and using the small rig L bracket but its still tough to check screen for landscape mode when shooting low. Thanks
What are your thoughts on the focus stacking, did it work well versus doing it manually? Did you find it practical?

I’ve seen multiple videos that the A7IV Has far better image quality in video. The newer sense of technology has a huge downside.

Its not a review. Not sharing your opinion about the camera and just repeating specs gives little value to viewers. Unless Sony bans you from telling us your real impressions.
