Non aviation revenue is important particularly for US airports. It would be good to venture a little bit and enjoy some of the concessions like coffee and stuff before your flight. It always hurts carriers as well to see people rushing to the check in and boarding areas since they need to make critical decisions on if you will make the flight 20 minutes before departure or will they have to extract your luggage. As long as you are not faced with a documented transfer time issue during a transfer you need to be prepared to be at the gate area at least a half hour if that before declared departure time.

it is a futuristic concept to have more than just aviation at a major airport. with all the competition for fees for landing planes and gate fees more and more airports of this type are sizing up non aviation operations such as hotels and shops. In the United States for example most airports are operated by local quasi governmental entities which keep getting mandates to self fund themselves no matter what gets to them, even expansions and operational repairs.

i must admit iam scared I'll be at that ap in 3 days with only 1 hr before i have to leave on a connecting flight hope thats enough time to get to the gate
If your carrier is aware of the connection time you should have no trouble especially if the departure city on your ticket is a major international hub. Emerites in Dubai has a nightly problem of having large UK flights get downed literally an hour before connecting flights to Sydney and Adelaide take off within minutes of having to order the departing flights to stop in Dubai and not go since they would arrive after an 11 PM overnight jet arrivals ban. It is not an uncommon problem for flight planners.

Great video. The roof system looks so intricate, and reminds me of the construction that went into the Dubai Mall. I am sure the airport engineers and architects had their hands full with that one.
