Love this SMT series you're doing. You deserve way more views!
aw thank you very much, I'm glad you're enjoying them
I still think I've got a fair amount of room for improvement before I can make waves in the community but I'm also pretty confident with how I'm progressing, also my tounge and cheek series title might be back firing on me a bit to be honest but I've commited lol
Sharing my videos/channel with any friends you think would be interested would honestly be a big help
Excellent job describing all the mechanics taught by Matador’s fight. Didn’t mention that first time watching this video but that fight really does subtly teach you so many things that you might not have needed to understand until then.
Matador is a really good noob wall, especially considering he was injected in post the vanilla version of the game
ATTACK AND DETHRONE GOD
ATTACK AND DETHRONE GOD
I was waiting for this and I’m not disappointed
“...he bumps into occultism magazine writer, Orlando Bloom.” Thank you! I thought the same thing my first time playing and I’ve never seen anyone else bring it up.
Great video!
Punching demons in the face sounds cool, so I may pick this up in the future
Nice Review
Ey thanks
great vid! hope you eventually get around to Strange Journey, it's my favorite non-Persona MegaTen game.
it is a little ways down my rough priority list but I do think SJ has a really unique looking setting for the series
@@Kraftium it's also worth noting that vanilla Strange Journey and Redux are vastly different games so when you do get there you'd probably be best to review both or at least try both
@@burnt_ramen9757 I do keep hearing more and more about how different redux is, I'll definately do more research before hand at the very least I know things like the new character art don't phase me to much its so low res I can't tell the difference
@@Kraftium it's also a difference in tone and atmosphere
Just found your channel after starting Soul Hackers. Great content. I hope to see more "real smt" as you put it :)
(I do really love persona as well though)
"real SMT" is whatever I want it to be at this point we got an arena/ultimax manga coming out next
I'll do a video on snowboard kids if I have too
either way I'm glad you're enjoying my stuff makes me happy to see I'm making good stuff people like
Reject God, embrace PaRSMTG.
"I hope to never see a teleport maze ever again."
Who's gonna tell him?
Also 17:28 that demon's animation is playing way too quickly. That doesn't occur in the original.
Please tell me strange journeys infamous map isnt a teleport maze too...
The one soul hackers wasnt that bad with the auto map cheat
And oh yeah it is rather quick isnt it?
There's also one thing that I've begun to appreciate more in this game over time, that being Hikawa. At first he just seemed like the basic idealistic cult leader character, but the more I gave it thought, the more he becomes interesting. He accelerated the Conception to occur when he himself had the means to prepare for it and thus have the chance of creating the next world, instead of letting time pass and the Conception to occur at its original intended time when humanity is most likely not prepared for it at all. Either people die now and he can control the fate of the world, a human getting to decide humanity's fate, or everyone dies later and some random deity gets to decide the ideology of the next world. And then there's his ideology itself. His ideology is Heaven or Nirvana, a world where everyone is already one with God, a world where Conception cannot occur ever again. And yet he calls it as a World of Stillness, naming the ideology after the main flaw of the concept of Heaven and Nirvana. He is treating the main flaw as the selling point, stating outright what is wrong with the ideology to make sure he won't come across as some deceiver. That to me is very interesting about it. People would often want life to be just like Heaven, and this dude goes and is trying to turn the world into it, yet he fully acknowledges that even it is a flawed idea.
@@Kraftium Well.. Let's just say that it isn't the worst dungeon in the series. So there's at least that.
@@Arexion5293 ... *sobs*
@@Kraftium SJ splits it's dungeons into sections for each mission so dont worry it isnt that bad
This video ha been in the making for over half a year!
Not quite that long :
I can't believe you went the whole video without talking about my boy Hijiri smh
Orlando Bloom was my homie right up until he betrayed me
Now Futomimi is my best friend
Have you played smt digital devil saga (both of the duoligies)? I would love to see your thoughts on those games. Also,if you have or are planning to play strange journey what version have you played or want to play,3ds or ds? Also would love your thoughts on this game too.
Not played either of them yet but definately plan too it was a toss up between dds and raidou next but I decided to hold off on DDS since out of those 2 I think DDS has a chance of getting a remaster
As for strange journey I already own it on 3ds but havent touched it (like alot of my backlog) and will probably do that but I might take a look at the original since everyone says theres a big difference
Glad you enjoyed the vid I'll keep my nose to the grindstone
Thank you Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne 🙏😁🖕🏿
Thank you Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne you were they for us when Kingdom Hearts 2 wasn't

Even though your series is named after a rather obnoxious meme, your style is a hell of alot more casual and friendly than it implies.
On Nocturne itself, I have very mixed opinions on it. I like the gameplay, but I really dont like how its story is handled. Outside of the Demi-Fiend himself, I couldn't care less for the human characters. To the point that when Chiaki as the Baal Avatar says "Our friendship dies here..."
I was like, you never felt like a real friend at any point. In fact .PIXIE is more of a geniune friend to the Demi-Fiend than anyone else in the Vortex World!
This style of minimal story scenes after huge chunks of gameplay is really not for me.
Oh yeah the series title is meant to be a cheeky bait and switch that appeals to everyone (in hindsight its not worked as planned but I'm like 5 videos in now so I'm commited) I hope you enjoyed the vid
and yeah I don't really fault noctune for it since it IS intended but I tend to like my rpgs to be a bit more character focused ... or like ... have any focus on the characters ... at all?
I went strutting around with demi-fiend, raidou, futomimi and pixie as my final party ever since reaching the 5th kalpa and I was like "old friends lame these are my new friends"
its why I see the 3 rejection endings as the 3 real ones being "good" "bad?" and "evil?" cos freedom is fixing everything and demon and true demon are "I care more about this silly ass skeleton on a bike more than you chiaki"
@@Kraftium I cant help but to wonder if the lack of character focus in Nocturne may be due to the fact that early on, the game was envisioned as an Open World Game. (I should also mention that I find the beta Anat and Amaterasu storyline far more interesting than the final product.)
Hah! I had that exact same party when I reached the Tower Of Kagutsuchi! I was specially determined to get Futomimi. Because even though he was a killer back when he was human. I still wanted to honor the Manikins in a way. Because those guys are already just completely humillated through the story. And they need to catch a break.
@@rock117rx2 i'll have to look up thoses beta story lines since ive not seen them but i did know about the open world stuff smt5 looks like it mirrors 3 in alot of ways with its game design seeming like atlus taking another crack at what they wanted nocturne to be
And yeah futomimi is a chad i love him felt a bit weird after learning about his time as a human but i dont see why a reincaration should be blamed for their past lives and if anything hes doing his best to redeem himself in this ife whether hes concious of it or not
@@Kraftium What little info on the Anat and Amaterasu beta storyline is in the "Making Of Nocturne" documentary, as well as unused files across the various versions of the game.
I really wish the game delved more into Futomimi's backstory, and I really wanted to see at least dialogue of him talking about his human life. And I really, really wanted to know who was the girl that apparently triggered a change of heart in him to stop his bloodlust. Like, she doesn't even get a name as far as I know!
