What kind of videos would you like to see?
The Insight District more things on engine repairing things. also would like to know is there a DPF on ranger?
There is, but only after the 2016 model
@@TheInsightDistrict maybe you can help me with my newly encountered problem. when i get on the aircon the engine idling seems to fuel knock..
I got a P0101 fault code today, I'll clean this tomorrow.
Nice video. Maybe you could speed up the video when you’re doing manual tasks such as removing screws or bolts etc.
But good job otherwise. 😁
Thanks for that input, just starting out with videos so any advice is good advice👍
Maybe you can also make videos in cleaning MAP and EGR and Manifold
these are on my list of videos to make, i just havent had much time lately to make videos, hopefully i can do them soon , thanks for the suggestion, it is always appreciated.
All you have cleaned is the outside of the MAF and the temp sensor. The flow is measured internally via air flow through the tip of it...
i sprayed the inside as well and flushed the resister
Great video new subscriber here. no need to disconnect the battery?
nah no need, just dont have the vehicle running
There also looks like a second MAF to the RHS of the engine on my Ford PX Ranger from an air inlet which comes from around the grill area? Does this just get cleaned the same? I've been randomly getting OBD P061B00 - Internal Control Module Torque Calculation Performance code and car is going into limp mode. Stop the car, turn off ignition and back on and clears. Very random. Someone told me the MAF can cause this?
If you go to the insight districts Facebook page, post a photo of what sensor you think it is and I'll have a look and let you know if it is or isn't if I know
Is your ranger fix now? Have you experienced low rpm and low power? Ours is a 2014 year model. Everytime the rpm is high it will flash the powertrain lamp and then have to switch off the engine. When we diagnosed it was the not the turbo hose/intercooler hose neither the turbo but the turbo actuator itself. It was the reason making the powertrain lamp to flash. So what we did is brought it to our mechanic friend and never spend any money for replacement. He just adjust it properly. Up until now the ranger is doing good. No more powertrain lamp flash anymore.
Hey man
Great video mate
Is this from the code P00BD ?
i didnt have a code, i was just demonstrating cleaning
just so you know mate , the px ranger doesn't have a maf sensor, it uses a combination of the "Intake air temperature sensor (I.A.T sensor)" and the "manifold absolute pressure sensor (m.a.p sensor)" what you are cleaning is the I.A.T wich only monitors the temperature, Need to clean the map located on top of the throttle body aswell.
thanks for the info, much appreciated
do we need to clean map as well ?
That's not quite right. What's being cleaned here is a combined MAF and IAT sensor unit. The MAP is on the the throttle body.
@@Doppelfrog yeah roger,im just going off haynes repair manual
After cleaning ..there's any electronics to reset or recall....thanks..
none that i had to do
How about coolant flush
ill try and make a video on this in the future
What happen when air cleaner sensor very dirty? Please answer me..
you might get bad fuel economy, or loss of power
Why is it important to clean this?
if it is dirty, it may give an incorrect reading to how much air is flowing past and increase how much fuel it adds to the mixture meaning you may have increased fuel consumption or your vehicle may be underpowered
I did this once and put it in right away and start the car. I never smell the exhaust so bad so I think I messed up mine.
If you put it in straight away your cars fuel/air mixture may have been incorrect so that's probably why you had the bad smell
@@TheInsightDistrict it still happens every time I start
