Wow. This worked! Thank you so much! I have a 2011 mustang GT. I bought it used with one key. When I found out that I need two keys to program extra key. I came across this video and decided to give it a try. IT WORKED! Not only did it work but it also remote starts my car! I was worried it wouldn't do that. Received my kit for my 2011 Raptor. Brought the key to Ace to get it cut for $2.50. Followed these instructions and 9 minutes and 50 seconds later I had a new master key. Total cost was about $102.50 and 10 minutes of my time. Local dealer wanted $550.
We're you able to use the new key to reset the ford mykey setting. I have the same truck and I can't turn off the mykey program because I only have 1 key and it isn't the admin key

This was far-and-away, the easiest "do-it-yourself" key replacement I've ever used. I have a 2010 Ford F150, and had only one key for it. Tom's Key Company's reprogramming kit worked on the first try, exactly as they said it would, and I now have three working replacement keys and FOB's. I also utilized their "photo" key cutting service for two of the keys, and they both work perfectly. All of this, for less than 1/3 of what the Ford dealer wanted to charge me. I thought I would go ahead and answer my own questions below. I bought this programmer exactly one year ago but I never used it due to covid and other issues, one being no one wanted to cut the key for me unless I also paid them to program it. So here I am a year later. I found someone to cut the key for me today. I went straight home and programmed the new key. I had lost the booklet but used the video above. It programmed the key including the remote start for my 2011 F250.

Just programmed two new keys for my 2013 Ford F150 following the video and programming went exactly as shown. Had to follow the 2nd set of instructions to program the buttons, but once done all my buttons work including the remote start.

Will this Simple Key programmer work with a factory blank? My trunk has remote start button and I have the factory blanks for it.
My F150 2011 was just like the video and just as easy to program. Did the part 2 and all lock and unlock features work too. Love it. I bought an extra key so now have 2 extras. Best price on the internet. I had a Ford Edge that a dealer did a few keys for me. Big mistake, will never do that again! Plus I drove away, got all the way home and they forgot to program the locks!

One of the button combinations for my F250 is remote start. Will this also program that?
I bought a used Ford Escape that only had one key--I always like to have a spare--I checked with a dealership ($200 for the key and $200 to program it). This works great. Local Ace wanted over $200 for this key fob. Took my key to a different Ace because the one that wanted over $200 wouldn't cut the key. Unfortunately the automated key cut machine screwed up and ruined the key. Luckily they had a matching key in stock and swapped it for me for free. It programmed with no issues.

Just purchased the kit (and another key for a spare) from your site, for a 2011 F-150 I've had for 7 years that came with only the second key. Local dealer wanted upwards of $500 for a "master" key and programming, and another $400 per additional spare 7 years ago, $900 was a bit much to me just for keys for a $16k used truck, so I didn't bite. Been paranoid about locking my only key in the truck for years, fortunately haven't yet. Will feel better when my wife has a copy, and keep a spare around.

@@TomahawkDIY Will post another update after I receive the key duplicator I just ordered for another $190 shipped and cut these blanks (will use it for other keys/friends, so worth it for me). Nobody in the county that has a working duplicator (Lowe's, Home Depot, Walmart, Batteries+, or our 2 local locksmiths) will cut keys unless the blank is bought from them apparently. Guess I should have called around before ordering. Lesson for others, check first and/or go ahead and get the key by photo option.
@@TomahawkDIY Received a "starting system fault" just after the success chime from the programmer, after removing the new cut key from the kit and attempting to start the truck, nothing. Pulled the new key and fortunately my 1 and only original key still works, and I received a "intkey could not program) message. But...tried getting help to see what may be the problem. The support line in the guide, no one answers, just infinite hold music. Shermalyn replied within a day of my reaching out asking me to try that number again, gave me another number that appeared to be for resellers (also no answer), and an email address for carkeysexpress retail support, that I received an automated response from, but so far no response (2 business days now). Will update again after giving them one more day to either answer or respond to my carkeysexpress's zendesk ticket. Hopefully can get this working, if not, sadface, a return may be inbound.
@@TomahawkDIY Couldn't get it to work on mine after some slow back and forth email support. Shermalyn was kind enough to offer my a refund. Was able to finally use something called forscan, some usb cable obd cable, and a couple blanks from online that I cut with the duplicator I bought for this project so wasn't a waste of time. Thank you much at least for starting me on this journey to finally get spare keys. Would still recommend people use your product first, forscan apparently only works on Fords, and one has to be super careful not to mess with settings that could break a truck, or leave you without functional keys.

Hello, I have a little older 2003 Ford F-150, am I able to program an extra key having only one original key, just by the cycling the ignition procedure, as this one year older vehicle is not included in the vehicle list here. I also have access to an XTool A30 Pro scanner if that will do it, thanks
Had a second key made and programmed at a locksmith for about a hundred bucks about 3 years ago for my 2011 f150. For the price of the programmer and key from Tom’s ($90) I might as well buy locally. TU on the video.

What if the organization ginalmkey is missing? I purchased a 2012 F-150 that was repoed. The original key was never recovered. Can I still program this key?
Programed 2 new keys on my 2011 Super Duty and I also programmed the lock/unlock but the horn honks twice instead of one time like it should. Any suggestions? Also how do you program the remote start on the key fob?
The double honk is a new one. There might be a setting somewhere in the vehicle computer to change that, but I'm not sure. Dealership might tell you over the phone. As for remote start, as long as your truck came with remote start originally it should work when you program the lock/unlock on the fob. You might try the technical support number in the FAQ section of the instructions to see if they have insights
Hi there! Thanks for the video. I cut it, programmed with step 1 but I can`t programm buttons on step 2. Programing process starts after 8 turns, but buttons on the new key do nothing, no response at all. I`ve changed battery but still nothing. Maybe you can help me with that? Thanks! If you have 2 keys and its a ford you put one key in turn it to on for 3 seconds and pull it out you take your second key put it in and turn to on for 3 seconds and pull it out last you take your key that youre trying to program and you do the exact same thing. If you dont have 2 keys a dealership or maybe this is your only option as far as i know @Chi9221

The remote thing I did on my 2009 Taurus years ago. No special tool is needed , it tells how to do it in the manual.
Will this automatically program the remote start if I order the remote start kit? I currently have the three-button key fob and looking to upgrade it if possible.
If the vehicle had factory remote start installed from the factory, it will get it working again as long as the problem is just that you have a 3 button key someone made in the past for the vehicle. If the vehicle did not come with remote start originally, this kit does not add new features.
I have a Ford escape 2014, but when I bought it last year it came with only a regular key and no fob. Would this help, I spent 300 on a locksmith already trying to make a fob key work that only worked for a few weeks. Willing to try again.

Yes, you need to press a button on every remote - your old one(s) and any new ones. I you only need to push one button on each remote, not 3 buttons per remote

Yes, as long as your vehicle originally had a remote function when it came new from the factory, you should be able to program the remote in on a new key. Unless the rare situation where the remote receiver in the vehicle has failed for some reason.

How do you use that to program a smart key on a 2015 Ford Expedition? Ours just came but everything I can find is talking about inserting the key and I have nowhere to insert one!
Sounds like you have a push button start ignition. Unfortunately we don't have a DIY solution for that yet. Expect to in early 2022.

Hey Boss I just received my Toms simple key programmer today,but unfortunately I am having an issue programming the key....I would highly appreciate it if you could please help me diagnose the problem. have a 2006 ford focus zx4, not a bad option when it comes to getting a key done, but when local locksmith(s) or even hardware stores say "they only will cut keys bought from them" kinda defeats this, unless there's another way?

found the "key cut by photo" on the website it'll save time&money for those who cant get a locksmith or hardware store to cut a key with a chip.
also the local ford dealership wants $160 for service+$55 per cut chip key an programmed. save yourself time&money.

my old remote key for Edge only the trunk opener works. Can i fix the lock and unlock?
Likely the circuit board buttons on you key have failed. You can use our kit to Program a new key that will included all original button features working again. (assuming the problem is your key and not that the actuators for the locks have failed)
What number do you use for a F250? Also, do you need that cord? They sent us no instructions or cord and the website now says “instructions unavailable”.

Unfortunately not yet. 2014 is the last year currently supported for F150. All going well by end of 2021 we will have your year covered.
How about a 2020 f150 platinum with only one factory fob?
Have a F350 that has been nightmare with MyKey since I got it. The truck won't earse keys. Apparently, it has a different ECU/PCM in it than the factory one. The truck runs great, but "myKey" volume is limited and that's it. Have tried Ford, a locksmith and nobody has been able to help so far with the myKey restriction. Wondering if this programming would pop as admin/master key and allow me to remove the myKey.
At this point, I have 5 keys for truck. Started with one! And all drive the truck, but none have allowed me to removed myKey volume deal or were able to reDisplay myKey in "settings".

The main reason I’m looking into this option is because I only have one key for my pick-up that I accidentally programmed as a “restricted” key (speed limit 80mph and volume limit 45%).
So will the new one become the admin and I will be able to disable MyKey feature on my truck??
Please email us. Help@TomsKey.com. We expect it will create a 2nd key successfully. We do not know whether it will program a new admin key or create another “restricted” key. If you try it, please comment back so others know the result.

Can I use this product to create a new key using the current key whose transponder chip isn't working?
Probably not. You need to have a key that starts the vehicle and let's you drive it. When you have a key that does that, then you can use this kit to make more keys.

You need one working key first. This kit will help you make spare keys. Locksmith it dealership can help you get that first key made.

Sorry - ran into problems with 2015 F-150. Expect to have keys and programmer available for you're truck in spring 2021.
Do you have one that will work on a 2015 Ford Escape that only has one key and that key does not have a remote start button . I purchased the car from the dealership . When i got home i found out that mykey was active on my car . I need help coz i dont have 300 to pay dealership .

The original and only key I have for the my truck was un programmed so does that mean this won’t work ?
You need a key that that starts the engine so you can drive the vehicle. Then this can help you make a spare key.

my existing key has broken unlock button but the lock button works.. can this still be paired? I only saw you use the lock button on the remote

The answer was yes. It only has to see any button transmit once during button setup.
just dont be a dumbazz like me. when it asks to press any button, it means the new key first
THEN press one from your old key.
It says in the instructions “all existing, working keys must be present during the pairing process. The others will not be functional until you pair them again.”
So will my existing key not work anymore? Meaning I will still only have one key?
Or does my existing key just need to be in the car and it will remember it?
I already bought this and want to make sure I understand what is happening before I proceed
