I.D. Grip and Pitch Tool for Strapping and Banding Material Coils

Ergonomic Partners teams of designers, engineers, and fabricators built this custom tool for lifting, I.D. gripping, and pitching 300-pound coils of strapping and banding material. This tool is a game-changer for the company's workforce, providing reduced worker fatigue, increased productivity, enhanced safety, and improved efficiency. The tool features a robust steel and aluminum powder-coated frame, Linatex rubber-lined grip jaws with UHMW grip guides and landing pads, a zero gravity floating handlebar, pneumatic grip and pitch cylinders, grip / release controls with an interlocking common button, momentary 90-degree pitch lever controls, proportional up / down controls, and E-stop on the handles. The tool is suspended from a Gorbel Workstation bridge crane with a J.D. Neuhaus pneumatic hoist and uses two anti-drop safety systems: an interlocking common button and our gripper safety circuit, preventing operators from accidentally releasing the coils in mid-air.
