    13 mini user. One time I was at Target picking up an order and one of their employees (who was a teenager) thought I had an older phone because how small the screen is. I realized that a bigger screen represents more of a status symbol or newer technology. This perception could also be why the sales for 13 mini is so low.

      Yeah, it’s sad to see where we’re at.
      The tragic irony is that it’s far more difficult to build a capable small device than a large one. In that way, the mini is far more impressive.

    I bought the iPhone 13 Mini despite having watched countless reviews suggesting the battery life was poor…improved yes but still not great. I took the plunge and have been thrilled to find my concerns were unfounded. For regular people like me who play a couple games, watch a couple CZcams vids, check social media and the news during the day this phones battery is ample. I regularly go to bed with 30% remaining.
    If you’re a normal user you will have ZERO issues.

    • @johnb2001jb
      @johnb2001jb Před 2 lety +12

      Very true, I can maintain about 5-10% of battery at the end of my work day with the iPhone 12 as it is, and my co-worker with the mini surpasses my battery life with flying colors all around!

    • @Onewiththesauce8
      @Onewiththesauce8 Před 2 lety +9

      Exactly. I think people are buying the higher end models being afraid that the 13 mini will not be up to the task of a daily user with work family and entertainment. It is the opposite. I can do all this and still have power at the end of the day around 25-40% and all without carrying around a brick in my pocket. Going out on dog walks everyday and working on cars with a big phone after while is annoying imo. So after 2 years of owning the iPhone 11 and it being so big with a case caused me friction in my day to day life so the switch to the mini was a game changer in my daily life. And again battery life is not a issue at all for a daily user. If you wanna play games or watch videos at home just use a pc or a tv. If I had a big business though I would probably buy a 13 pro max since I would probably be using it a lot more doing business. Pick the right iPhone for your situation, don’t pick a iPhone because of what others think. iPhone 13 mini is the underdog IMO.

    I love my 13 mini and agree that it is the best phone I have owned. If apple does not renew the mini, I will probably hold on to the. 13 mini for as long as possible. I am someone who gets a new iphone every year. I am not having any issues with the battery using the 13 mini. I suspect that I may have an issue with batter life when traveling but, I’d rather have the mini 13 + snap on battery than carry a heavier phone. I hate big phones. I love the slick and unobtrusive 13 mini. After all that is the whole idea of a cell phone - unobtrusive portability. Go Lite and unencumbered - life is so much fun that way

    Should have bought the 13 Mini in the 1st place. I have large hands. I went from a Xs Max to 13 Pro to 13 Mini. The size is comfortable to pocket and psychologically I find myself off the phone more which I feel good about. More living and less being glued to the phone.

      The whole point of the Mini is to keep it a "Mini", being able reach the whole screen with your hand the phone rest in. If you put the battery pack on it become bulky, heavier, and a little more difficult getting in and out your jeans, It becomes not so "Mini" anymore.
      I would also point out that the majority of folks probably have a charger in their car and at their work place if charging is needed. My 2 cents!

    I got a blue 13 Mini back in October and I love it. The size is compact, but not too small, and the battery life is every bit as good as the iPhone 11 I upgraded from. I've yet to kill it in a single day, and there are days where I intentionally don't charge it, just to stress and see if it's actually good battery life or if I'm just saying it is to make me feel better about my purchase (which sounds super weird, now that I type it out). Even when I'm pushing 7 hours of SoT (mainly through CZcams, Reddit, Instagram, and ESPN apps), I still haven't killed it before I go to bed. The only actual downside I've noticed so far from the mini is that the speakers aren't quite as loud as some of the larger iPhone models, but that's really quite alright because I tend to keep my AirPods on me everywhere I go. Overall I'm very happy with the mini - and the blue color is just fantastic.

    I bought the 13 mini on launched day. It was the first time I ever bought an Apple product on launch day, quite an interesting experience btw. Overall, I really love it. It’s my favorite Apple product I own and keep in mind, I also have the M1 MacBook Air and 2018 iPad Pro, both of which have impressive hardware as well. The 13 mini just feels amazing to use because of it size. Also, the fact that I get almost no compromises from picking the smaller phone compared the “standard” iPhone 13 is just amazing. It’s just amazing how a phone as small as the the 13 mini has a screen that feels immersive, a very impressive camera, and pretty good battery life.
    So it really does break my heart to know that not a lot of people but the smaller iPhones. I mean I get why. The “mini” monicker does imply “less” or “cheap” which is true to some degree. The 13 mini is the cheapest new flagship iPhone which is still pretty expensive. But that shouldn’t deter people from buying it. But I guess the real reason is just the screen size. While 5.4” is big enough for me and likely for most people. When there are bigger options available, whether if it’s from the more expensive market or the cheaper price range in the Android side, people will naturally go to the largest screen size they can get. That’s what happens when the smartphone has become people’s primary computer. They want to have the largest screen size available that they can carry around. While I think that sentiment is stupid and people shouldn’t be on their phones too much. It’s something that the market wants, and there’s nothing we can do to change that.
    So it will be sad to see the mini go. But at least I can be happy with the fact that I bought something that represents an interesting chapter in the history of the iPhone.

    The 13 mini is a nice proposition tbh. A phone that you can comfortably fit in your pocket and the palm of your hand without sacrificing much specs from the more expensive variants. I would buy one in a heartbeat if I had the funds for it 😅

    I currently have an iPhone XR, which I upgraded from a 6S. I remember being bummed that there wasn't anything smaller at the time because even in the store, the XR felt like a brick. I've gotten used to it sorta, but it still feels kinda big. I drop it a lot and I get hand cramps if I try to hold it with one hand for too long. I CANNOT WAIT to get my pink 13 mini! It's so cute, and more importantly, comfy in my hands. I'm also not a ~content creator~ or a business person or anything like that, so I'm sure I'll be more than fine with the battery life.
    Also it's so crazy to me that a phone that just a few years ago would be a regular-ass sized phone is now called "mini" lol

    Got the regular iPhone as earlier even I was inclined towards the mini. But regular one having more battery life made the decision easier. Also not to forget, the way phones have been getting bigger, in a couple of years regular is gonna be the mini in eyes of the regular customer!! My previous phone was a oneplus with a much bigger screen. At first I was sort of afraid how I would adjust to the smaller screen but the comfort it gives is unbelievable, wouldn’t trade this for any bigger phone..

After a little while, one doesn’t even notice the screen size. Literally 10mins into any movie or video or even a game, you are so engaged into it that you wont even notice the size. Just like you dont notice 3D movie 10 mins into it

    I just got this phone a couple weeks ago as a 'compromise' between the SE and regular, but it's turning out not to be a compromise AT ALL. It sounds weird, but the smallness combined with the slight extra thickness of the 13 gives it a great feel in the hand. Like a really good stumpy eraser. Just a really good build quality and super sharp display.

    First I’d like to say I love watching your videos and find them incredibly informative.
    Second, I bought an iPhone 13 mini about 6 weeks ago, I love it to bits! I love the size, it’s barely noticeable in my pocket. I have had some fun taken out of me by family, wondering why I have such a small phone as I’m a ver large guy at 6’3” with monstrous hands lol!
    Battery wise, I don’t have an issue, I’m having a lazy day today watching CZcams videos amongst other things like social media. I’ve spent nearly 4 hours on entertainment and still have 56%, which I think isn’t to bad for a phone that keeps getting slated for its battery..

  • @AaronDJ26
    @AaronDJ26 Před 2 lety +1

    I have been using the 12 mini for the last six months and I’ve just been blown away using it every second. Whatever I do throughout a day, going to college or hanging out at the mall, the battery lasts me a whole day without any hitches. And this is me not compromising. If I plug in the phone at night and I wake up with 100%, with my 5-6 hours of screen on time, I usually end up the day with 40-56% of battery on a regular day.
    I really hope Apple doesn’t discontinue the mini lineup after the 13, because there’s still a huge market for people who love small compact phones. It’s just not as prominent and seen, because of others chasing behind the brick sized Pros and Pro Maxs.

    I bought the 13 mini a week ago and i can confidently say that if you use dark mode, with moderate use like calls, light email, FaceTime for about an hour, you can get about 1.5 days of battery life. It’s not the best but I know exactly how long it’s going to last and it hasn’t caused any problems for me. The benefits definitely far outweighs the con which isn’t really a con

    2:03 yes, i think part of the problem and why small phones are going away is because people feel like the top end phones are the only ones that will work for them and that the midrange stuff(probably the best for most people, such as the regular 12 and 12 mini) are seen as low end phones that aren't good enough.

  • @leonaldobrum
    @leonaldobrum Před 2 lety +5

    Seeing this on my 13 Mini. The 12 Mini is now in my desk drawer, turned off, until I give it to someone. The difference? Battery. The 12 Mini is a disgrace in that regard, similar to the SE 2020. The 13 Mini, on the contrary, if you use ALL the correct power saving strategies, CAN (most days) hold on until bed time. That alone was a monumental progress. But, of course, it is not anything to write home about - just a welcome and much needed capability. The “other” reason why I love and use it? Easy: very very few compromising here - it’s basically as capable as its big boy companions. There - I just said exactly what you did - from personal experience. Oh, one thing: My shirt pocket voted strongly for this form factor and light weight! And my eyes are not complaining either! 🤩

    I think what seems to be the main issue is the name. When something is "mini" it gives the impression that it's not as complete as it's regular sized counterpart. Plus the small size of the phone gives the impression that you're getting less phone for almost the same price ($100 difference). It's a shame the 13 Mini is the last we'll see in a while since it sold so poorly.

    I still have my iPhone 12 and I’m using it daily with no regrets. It just fits anywhere and battery is not an issue to me. But, I concur, people nowadays use and abuse their phones all day long, so a long battery life might be a crucial detail for many. Still, for me, a medium/small sized mobile phone makes sense and Apple is one the few (if not the only) company still offering the choice.

    I went from an iPhone 12 Pro Max to an iPhone 13 mini. Adjusting to the battery life was difficult to say the least. But now I’m at a point where I’ve simply stopped using my phone for everything. I find I rely more on my Mac, iPad and TV for other things I need to do. Nowadays my iPhone is mainly used for phone calls and texts, music, GPS and podcasts. When I first got it I’d had to charge up the mini halfway through the day. Now I’m consistently ending the day at about 25%. But you make a great point. With the max, I just used it and at the end of the day I plugged it in. But here, the battery anxiety is real.

And I liked the big screen when I use the phone, not to carry it. And I would like to be able to use the pencil. I had hoped they would make that happen at least on the pro.

    The 13mini, fantastic first iPhone. The battery life last me easily one day and sometimes 2 days. I have to admit, I am not a heavy phone user; I usually sit around 3 hours of screen on time a day. But since I decided to get the phone, I also got the Apple Wallet and I have slimmed down my everyday carry, which helps slim down pocket bulk. Besides, a phone to me is a light device, mostly for communicating, looking at getting an iPad for my content consumption (probably the iPad mini). If I need a larger screen, I have a TV or my computer with 27" monitors.
