I love that too! She's an incredible actress and comedian with great artistic range, especially in Shakespeare. I just love how down to earth she is about Doctor Who, because it makes her so relatable to audiences. Dr Who was always meant to be for everyone and she represents that!
I love that he knows about the jokey Doctor marrying his daughter while being his own father-in-law, accepts it's a thing but quickly moves on from it. 😁
If you've ever seen the two of them in the Never Mind The Buzzcocks special, you'll see that Catherine has forgotten more than Donna ever could with a mind wipe....and it's hilarious.

The fact that David Tennant met his wife and the Doctor met his wife within episodes of each other is just so serendipitous. Also, David and Catherine going on about how important River became in the "Who-firmanent" was so great, considering they had every excuse to think she would be a one off character when they did Silence in the Library and Forest of the Dead.

Lol I knew about both episodes/wife connection of course but I never made the connection that not only were in the same series but they were only a couple of episodes apart until I watched this lol
And the fact that his real life wife is the daughter of a doctor who
So David Tennant meets his wife, who plays his doctor's daughter, but in reality is the 5th Doctor's daughter, which seems very Game of Thrones-y, coincidentally in which her son is in the prequel for.... Wibbly wobbly timey wimey.

I've just finished rewatching Turn Left, Stolen Earth and Journey's End this evening in anticipation of tomorrow. And retraumatised is a very accurate description. I felt so much sader.

I think it’s just that her mind races along so quickly, she’s trying to filter out all the info to hit the key bits, so it just sounds like she’s struggling to remember-- she’s actually struggling to summarize it all into a few sentences!

They skipped over her saying "Then we met Alex" so quickly and we know Alex Kingston has said she's "holding in a big spoiler", so for them to acknowledge her, especially as she states in Silence In The Library to the Dr that this is "The youngest" she's ever seen him is very, very telling. I hope I'm not getting our hopes up, but I'm just glad they're back. Gives hope to everyone across the world in these darker times where everyone is struggling 💜

Best Doctor × Companion duo in all WHO history.
I really hated Catherine's comedy beforehand and was really annoyed when they announced she was going to be the new assistant. I have never been proven wrong so quickly. Donna was by far the best assistant because she was the exact thing the Doctor needed, a friend who could match him in sarcasm with ZERO romantic interest. It's kind of heart breaking she only got one season with him.

Catherine Tate, unlike most companions, was an older and experienced performer when she came to the show. So she was different, especially when it came to comedy. I guess we'll see if her head blows up when she meets the Doctor again. And yes, he did marry his daughter (actually Peter Davison's), which is illegal in 23 star systems.
Stealing other people's observations here but I think it's pretty significant that Donna was basically the only female companion that didn't have romantic feelings for the Doctor. They were just friends - mates on an adventure together less of the tension and drama between the two.

I will never get over how David married the actress of The Doctor's 'daughter' who also happened to be the actual Daughter of Peter Davidson. What is the chances of the 5th Doctor being related through marriage to the 10th Doctor.

Wait until Ty Tennent becomes the Doctor in like 10 years. Not only are both his dad and grandad the Doctor, and his mom is the Doctor's daughter in more than one way, but he's already had the chance to act opposite another Doctor (Matt Smith) lol

I've always loved how David is just as much of a geeky fan as the rest of us lol. The fact that so many of the Doctor Who cast is made up of people who grew up watching and loving the show is a huge part of what makes it so incredibly special

IKR??? We never got any resolution for that! I'd watch a whole show with Georgia/Jenny traveling the universe and hopefully meeting one Doctor or another

In the comics she actually returns and meets up with 12, Nardole and Bill.

I recall a skit that the two did together sometime later. David was a substitute teacher and Catherine was a student. And I loved the Doctor Who section of the skit.

Please give me as much of this content as possible!! Donna is my absolute favorite companion and the dynamic between Catherine and David is absolute MAGIC!!! I wish we got more DoctorDonna, her being the most important woman in all of creation was MASTERFULLY laid out the whole season from the special she was introduced in! And she even had an episode where River was MOVED just by hearing that this was THE Donna Noble. Also she was there when the Capaldi cameo happened!! In rewatches, it just gets me so hyped and amped! But I also always want more River Song too 😂I'm just a glutton

Wow, they really did had a fairly perfect season. Tons of callbacks and fan service. So good.
I knew that Peter was in the Pompeii episode but I had no clue that Karen was also in that episode. It’s amazing that they both got to return as main characters.
Tennant's father was also in Agatha Christie episode, playing a servant
This was a great trip down the memory line... seeing the death of River Song... and Doctor on that tour bus... and planet of Ood... hit right in the feelings.

Loved this, as the recap was something, but also touching on stories to be talking on, such as River Song. When look back at it all, would have happily had the Doctor & Donna be for years as was so fun.
I'll never forget my first watch of Midnight, even after all these years I still watch that scene to see if I can spot that shadow.
My favorite thing is Catherine Tate never really knowing what's going on on Doctor Who

I love this and I'm so excited, seeing David and Catherine it's like being a kid again and remember how much I loved this show.
Thank you DR Who was such a big part of my childhood. My elder sister was such a huge fan and drew me in, as I watched behind the sofa and fingers across my face in fear during the 70’s and 80’s. Always remained fans through the decades. The excitement for the 50th celebrations we chatted so happily about the war Doctor. I am so gutted that on the 60th anniversary she has been gone exactly 2 years. She will always be tied into Who for me. I miss her so much but a part of her is always carried with the Doctor.
How blessed are us fans to have this iconic duo back together 😍❤️

Its incredible just how many previous and future doctor who actors are there in their run(series 4). Not just Rose and Jackie Tyler, Mickey Smith, Martha Jones, Jack Harkness, Sarah Jane Smith and Harriet Jones but also who will soon become Amy Pond and the 12th Doctor as well. And lets not forget River Song’s story starts (or ends depending on your perspective) during this time. It’s just an amazing series of television

I love how they talked about the Doctor being split and one going with Rose/Billie Piper, while the other lost Donna and was sad in the rain, while they probably knew that they were going to be doing the Bigeneration and that one Doctor was going to go and be happy with Donna and the other Doctor was going to go off on the usual adventures.
Not only the winning lottery ticket but it was paid for by Donna's late father. Double whammy
