    The whole lineup of Z's is incredible. The 240Z is classic, iconic and sexy. The 300Z is sleek, QUICK for the time, and has an interior to die for. The 350Z is gorgeous, sticks out in a crowd and can tangle with a lot of V8s of its time. The 370Z(my favorite, I'm a bit partial though) is voluptuous, a godly body with a great sounding engine with performance to compete. I can't wait for the 400Z to release to see what it'll be iconic for!

  • @vernonedmonds8596

    I prefer the 90's 300Z. It had deceptive power when the twin turbo came out. It was.more like 322hp rather than 300hp. I also like the 2+2, though it was heavier, but it was still quick, fast and comfortable.

    • @vernonedmonds8596
      @vernonedmonds8596 Před 3 lety

      Up until the generation 4 Supra was introduced (1993 - 2002) there was a handshake agreement in the Japanese auto industry that 300 was the magic horse power number. Generation 4 Toyota Supra naturally aspirated hp was 220. For the home market, they gave it 276 hp. The sequential twin turbo was rated at 321 hp for the American market and 330 hp for the home and European market. After the gentlemens agreement was fractured, the other Japanese auto manufacturers did the same to stay relevant.

    My first Z was the 280ZX in 1979. Graduated from school got a job with exxon, got a loan and bought the car off the showroom floor. Loved that car so smooth and great to drive. Next was an 84 300ZX. It was ok, bought it used and had some issues as the seller turned back the od. Nice guy. Next was a 1988 special edition turbo with Recaros. Now that was a nice car. But Moma was complaining about it taking up too much space in the garage...so I sold it. (woosy) Fast forward 20 years and I found a 91 Fairlady that needs a face lift, tummy tuck and well, a lot. A tt 2 seater. Plan to restore to her original beauty maybe with some nice wheels, front bumper facade and side skirts but nothing tacky. Too many modified look like they need a nail clipping, have an extra appendage and bow legged. The new Z? Looks nice, just maybe.

    The baddest Z I ever saw and had the pleasure of riding in was when I was in the Air Force and stationed in Japan from 1978 - 1982. I knew a guy there that had a '69 0r '70 240Z with the rare high compression cylinder head that had a bored and stroked engine, a high lift cam, and running triple side draft Webber carbs, headers, and a free-flow exhaust. I shit you not when he floored that beast; it was like the horses raised their heads from underneath the hood..! The sound was like a dozen Tubas being played at a high school marching band. The sound was incredible! He didn't have that front bumper but he did have a whale tail spoiler, similar to the Porsche 930 Turbo's spoiler, which was really popular in those days in Japan back then. In fact, the Japanese guys would really trick out their Z-cars by adding a shark nose front clip/bumper and dropping them really low, and adding stiff suspension components with close-ratio steering. It was cool as hell to see them come driving downtown bouncing on that stiff suspension and making a quick Indy car-like maneuver. In my opinion, as far as incredible-sounding cars go, I think the Lamborghini Murcielago and the Aventadors have great-sounding fuel-injected engines but nothing beats the sound of a naturally aspirated straight-six running triple Webbers. That's pure joy and music to the ears...peace!

STI VS EVO, SUPRA VS 3GT, RX7 VS 300ZX, ETC. I certainly think it could even become a netflix show or something! Assemble elite teams for each build so everything stays extra fresh, too! Wow the history of the Nissan Z. Learned something new...the X stood for luxury. I am in love. The Z32 2+2 was my first car. 1991 Midnight Pearl Blue, leather interior, manual transmission, I even had the spongy OEM spoiler on the back....had to replace it twice because those spoilers would bend and warp after a while. When I told an acquaintance I had one he exclaimed “Oh no! You are one of them! That car has a cult following!” I was floored. I didn’t know that at the time even though I was part of the z club...I was the only chick there and loved it.
    Those guys always gave me a second opinion when it came to car issues. They were forever, swapping out parts to their cars, upgrading engines, turning NA into turbos, automatics into manual. The dude is right... why would you by an automatic Z? 🤣🤣 Well as my baby got older I had access to a lot of stock parts for free due to that club.
    I do believe I was a little obsessed. When parked every time I walked away from her I couldn’t help but always give her one last look. God she was beautiful. Well...one cold night of 2019 I was sitting at a traffic light for like 10 secs and out of nowhere a drunk driver in a commercial vehicle ran smack into me.
    I walked away without a scratch but I couldn’t save her. She was totaled. I thanked her for the good times and the challenges. I bought her when she was 7 years old When I tell you I loved that car!!!!! I loved that car!! I had her for 20+ years. It was a big deal for me to get her. I was told I couldn’t and shouldn’t get that kind of car (was a young mom of two at the time). Well there was the “family car” and there was MY car. That was the first car in my life that took my breath away when first laid eyes on it. The styling was ahead of its time.
    When my sons got older I taught them to drive a stick with that car. That car outlasted everyone else’s car I knew. And I drove that sucker. Every time I see a Z32 on the road today I feel some type of way...nostalgic. I miss that car. When she got even older I wouldn’t let anyone work on her. I had stopped going to the dealer after a while because she was becoming a dinosaur there.
    I had to find a mechanic that had strong knowledge, skill, and the same love for the Z. I also preferred him being a Z owner himself. You know I found one. He treated her good. I learned the more you work on your car (dealer, swap meets, junkyard, facebook groups, z clubs) the more you become attached. The 400Z? I’m still watching and waiting. 👀 I am getting another Z32 soon this one I’ll call Xena and she will need some company in the driveway. Long live the Z!

    Love my Z32... have had to work on it recently over the past summer. Hands are cut. Have had to buy shorty wrenches and long needle nose pliers to get to some of the metal spring steel clamps. Lots of the rubber hoses are baked on at this point in its lifetime and from my experience, you need to undo a lot of these hoses to get to anything (especially if you're removing the plenum) which results in having to replaced your worn out hoses. Electrical connectors are a pain. Everything is a pain on the car. I can go on for a while... Great car to drive, pain in the ass to work on. Just be weary
