Wow! What a super presentation. Thank you for putting all the ingredients, and, instructions so clearly in the text beneath. Why look anywhere else....this isTHE BEST channel! Well done Dimitra. Your no nonsense way of showing the full details of the recipe are superb.
I love your recipes 🥮❣️🥮 my name is Ewa , I’m from Florida , vanilla slice puff pastry we call NAPOLEONKI They’re in my family for many generations I’m using your recipe all the time “ THEY ARE THE BEST “🥮🥐🥧🎂🧁🍪 thank you very much for sharing ❤️❤️❤️❤️
In New Zealand (and Aussie) we call these custard squares 🤤 but we dont use the almonds/icing sugar just plain puff pastry & we also put a basic vanilla icing on top!
I’m moving backwards starting with your newest videos and I’m to five months, hence this recipe and I’m going to make it this weekend for my family dinner. Every recipe has been incredible. You truly are my favorite chef ❤ your recipes are easy to follow and you don’t over complicate. Thank you from Utah btw for 3 days in September every year, Salt Lake has the most wonderful Greek festival. I would say it’s the most popular celebration of food, dance and culture locally.
Oh my... puff pastry going on my grocery list. I usually have some in my freezer... but I can't use up what I have without having another package in there!. I love vanilla custard. Such a decadent dessert!
I made this on the weekend and it tasted amazing! It is now one of my favourite desserts! We loved it! Thank you Dimitra for yet another wonderful recipe!
These look so delicious Dimitra! Thank you so much for this recipe that reminds me of a Napoleon! Please let me know if you have your new cookbook out after your breakfast book? Love your recipes💕
Hi Dimitra, so nice to see you in your new home and congratulations 🥰 that vanilla slice looks so delicious, I think I’ve tried it once and loved it. Yours looks amazing, it is popular here in Australia.
There is a similar pastry in UK too, they call it custard slice over here. I never tried making it myself as it is readily available everywhere but might give it a go..thx for the recipe! Euxaristo
Oh how delicious does this look. And I don’t do desserts but this looks easy. Ty ty ty. I’m making your spanakopita tomorrow. Made it once I ate the whole thing. Lol
So excited for you now that you are getting your new kitchen, no one deserves it more than you do. Can’t wait for the new kitchen unveiling video. If you bribe those guys with this goody I am sure they will do it in half the time. ( kidding) Thank you for the great recipe . ❤️
This looks great. I like how you taste test your desserts as if you don't know that they're perfect. Would a splash of almond extract, while you are adding vanilla, be a good idea?
In Belgium it’s called “mille-feuilles” (thousand sheets/layers referring to the puff pastry of course ). I absolutely love that dessert and I miss it since moving to the States so thank you for this recipe!! From a half Greek, half Belgian fan of yours!!
It’s funny how there’s a lot of French word in Greek (they may sound a little different though but definitely French 😉) I actually didn’t know how they called it in Greece. Thank you for that!! And yes, super yummy recipe!!! I love your channel!! You’re very talented! Thank you for sharing all those wonderful recipes!Magdalini
🌸 lol That’s so funny 😂 It’s the most sold out desert in UK, people just inhale it. Not joking I’ve seen it near lips of my granddad for 3 seconds & then it’s all gone and he’s suddenly looking at mine 😂🤣

It's called a custard slice in South Africa from Shop called Something Nice
Here in Australia there's an annual competition for best vanilla slice for bakeries
Thank you Dinitra. Can we add more layers with the pastry what will happen?
👏
Could be good with mastica custard too.
Hello, can you freeze the pastry cream?
In Romania we call it Cremes.
In Australia, it’s called a snot block
🌸 lol That’s so funny 😂
It’s the most sold out desert in UK, people just inhale it. Not joking I’ve seen it near lips of my granddad for 3 seconds & then it’s all gone and he’s suddenly looking at mine 😂🤣
ma'am one does not need a clean towel for that last step, one merely needs a tongue.
I like you very much but why would anyone want to eat 375 gram sugar 😔 time to make adjustments in recipes
Oh!!! This is my kind of dessert. Absolutely love vanilla anything but especially puddings. Thanks Dimitra. Hugs from France
