- In 2019 Cory Asbury gave up all social media. He knew being a better husband and father was more important to God than his image on social media.
He talks about how our generation is hardwired to the constant unthought through need to open our phones and scroll. And when you remove the false sense of affirmation you get from "likes" and comments, it makes it necessary to turn to God.

I like that: If anything matters, then everything matters. Even the smallest thing matters to God, what ever that may be as long as you are doing in obedience to God. I needed this lesson. Thanks Cory for your sharing. Always felt unimportant in being a mother, cooking, washing , taking care of the kids etc etc and like i wasn't really doing stuff that my working friends were doing.
Amazing how God leads us to testimonies we need to hear at the right moment in our lives.

The sad thing is a lot of people will watch this and say, “Man that’s admirable” and then go back to their social media. I totally quit all media and never looked back and never plan to. Not saying everyone should, but why only a year? He should do it forever.

We as people are addicted today to the media and other things, and we should be addicted to "Jesus" and "God" instead. 🙏 💞
I don't know if I consider CZcams a "social media" platform as it doesn't really have the instant messaging and "posting" like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. At the same time, CZcams is a social media because people still use the platform for getting their product out. That being said, I had the big 3 (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) as well as a snapchat at one time. I deleted all but Facebook. I still watch CZcams everyday, mainly for music, a handful of pastors and sports content. I haven't been on Facebook since January 1st this year, and it has actually been pretty nice. I don't have cable/satellite, so social media would be where I get my news from. I don't even follow the news anymore. If I can just get away from CZcams (or drastically decrease my watching), I think I'd be alright. I need to focus on being a better husband and father. I applaud Cory for doing this, and I wish more people would consider doing so. It's mind boggling how much time is wasted by scrolling through nonsense and garbage for hours everyday.
