What the cameras cannot tell you is just how loud the sound is in person and how far it carries. I heard lions and tigers in wildlife parks and zoos, the sound was unbelievable. Absolutely ferocious.

@@trihardcx6743Good comparison. Both big cats’ roars are resonant across a wide audio spectrum - some of which is “felt” rather than “heard” as such. That’s similar to the sensation you are trying to describe.
From my understanding of their similarities and differences, a lion’s roar is actually louder by raw decibels (pun intended), being intended to communicate across the vast distances of African savannah, whereas the frequencies at which the tiger’s roar can be heard has a kind of stunning effect on their intended prey: in other words, the tiger’s roar is so visceral, it literally short-circuits the flight or flight response into a freeze response.
Lion’s command respect through their roar, but the tiger’s is terrifying. I know which one I’d prefer to hear if stuck out in the wild and it isn’t the tiger’s.

yeah this is just roar. They do it to attract attention. So it's not necessarily ferocious thing this tiger is doing. He's just trying to get attention. Now if he was being ferocious, he would be growling/hissing.

Lion Roars louder than tiger because lion's larynx (wind pipe) are longer and set deeper inside than tiger , so the sound comes to be louder and travel more distance
For Ex- A bullet shot with Ak47 will travel more distance than a bullet shot with pistol..here same thing....
Remember one thing Only lion Roars
Tiger can not roar ... .tiger can make calling & growling sound which we listening right now
And tiger is more scary and powerful
But tiger weak point is it can not fight more than 5-10 minutes , where as lion can fight around 30minutes..
    So ultimate warrior is lion.......
Tiger is sole hunter..and aggressive than lion in every aspect........
