    A company in China’s southwestern province of Yunnan has been testing a new heavy-lifting drone that can be used for construction projects. The unmanned aerial vehicle can carry payloads weighing up to about 300kg (660lbs) allowing it to deliver building materials to electric power infrastructure sites at altitudes of 3,000m (9,842ft).

      @whyte rhyno I'm going to guess you've never seen the aftermath of what either an earthquake or tornado or some other natural disaster causes and how much damage is done. There are many things that can't be so easily cleaned up such as trees due to the size and weight, this could help make it easier.

    Incredible technology! Building such extensive electricity infrastructure high above the clouds efficiently is a great achievement. Plus, not only do these drones reduce environmental damage and human labour, they're also part of creating a poverty-free socialist society. No matter how remotely you live, how high the altitude, how difficult the terrain, everyone deserves stable access to electricity and transport. This could never be achieved by profit-driven private companies, as the video states the drones are more expensive than traditional hauling methods. Same with other electricity infrastructure in China, for example the extensive construction of wind turbines on the Liangshan mountains of Sichuan to provide electricity to remote villages and minority communities. These low-income citizens will never be able to pay for this infrastructure, let alone generate a profit, but the country will still build the infrastructure for them - simply because things like electricity and water are human rights, not commodities.

      Cargo planes can't land everywhere, drones on the other hand can land pretty much anywhere.

      Cargo planes need a runway to land while a drone can land anywhere that is clear of structures like big rocks and trees.

      Why do some drones have 4 rotors, yet some have 2 wings? Then what should a drone look like?

      @frankcaleb419 Před 4 měsíci

      drones come in all sorts. we have monocopters, bicopters/dualcopters , tricopters, quadcopters and so forth. The reason why quadcopters are very familiar is that they are more stable and maneuverable compared to their other counterparts. @@vennsim71

    It is better to use light weight helicopters to carry items.
    These drones will consume more fuel with less efficiency.
