  • More on how to prepare Da Hong Pao tea here: www.letsdrinktea.com/types-of...
On top of step-by-step brewing instructions for this Chinese oolong tea, you'll also find additional information and recommendations for buying it online.
Big Red Robe tea is the most expensive tea to ever be sold. Today, most Da Hong Pao on the market is produced from clippings of the original bushes. This means it has a similar quality, but costs much less. Basically, it is now accessible to us normal people.
If you want to buy Da Hong Pao, online tea shops are usually your best bet, unless you are actually in China. Even online, it is a difficult variety of tea to find, especially if you want good quality. The page above has recommendations for websites where you can buy Big Red Robe tea.

Best Big Red Robe I've had is from Verdant. Give that a try. I like to do a quick rinse to this one before the first brew. One of my favorite teas.

I like the way you shoot your videos. Think of telling us how the tea tastes in the video? Also perhaps try gong fu style brewing.

I would love to, but I've learned I'm terrible at describing flavors. Beyond "It tastes great!" I have nothing to offer, sadly.

I wish I could describe flavors well, but I just can't. I can say it tastes good, but just don't know how to describe it beyond that. That's why I never mention that with the teas. I hate it, because I would love to review actual teas.

@@letsdrinktea Personally I can't do that well either... but even an 'amateur' opinion would be fine I'm sure. There's whole flavor wheels for tea, like earth, sweetness, fruit, etc. and I think it'd be fun to discuss the taste in the comments. After all, everyone perceives the world a little different. I think the Da Hong Pao tastes very earthy, and a bit like molasses too. (I'm having a cup right now!) But yeah man, do what's comfortable with you!

If you are gonna do the Big Ref Robe tea, Amazon would be the last place i would get it. Why drink like generoc tea, especially when the more quality tea kust tastes amazing.

    You said 'cheap'.
    Why?
I thought Da Hong Pao is the most expensive tea in the world? Or are there variants?
I'm just curious. Looking to learn more about the world. Hehe.

There are plenty of cheap ones, too. It's actually one of the more common teas on supermarket shelves in China and the ones you find there are never expensive.
